We got a good look at DOOM Eternal at the end of Bethesda's E3 2019 press conference, including its multiplayer. For the first time, we got a peek at what id Software has been cooking up for the game's competitive experience, and it's not quite what you'd expect.
Named Battlemode, the multiplayer sees one player assume the role of a DOOM slayer, while two others take control of two demons. Over three rounds, the slayer will need to use its brute strength to take down the monsters, while the demons play a more strategic game. It's definitely a far cry from the last DOOM's standard multiplayer affair.
What do you think of Battlemode in DOOM Eternal? Embrace your inner demons in the comments below.

I really hope they give us the map editor and multiplayer from the last game too, and this is just a mode that's on offer...
Pfft, Mario Kart has had Battle Mode for years.
Surely it can't just be this?
Doom '16 has such incredibly tight, fast and satisfying multiplayer; the likes of which you just don't get anywhere else on consoles.
Anyone notice that the announcer in that the trailer sounded exactly like the Mortal kombat guy. It's possible that the Doom Slayer maybe in MK 11.
