Original Story: Yesterday, THQ Nordic revealed that it would be announcing three games over the next three days. Out of all the games within the publisher's huge back catalogue, no one suggested a revival of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, a PlayStation 2 platformer beloved by fans.

In fairness, "beloved" was the word THQ Nordic used when it hinted at the games to be announced. So, here we are: SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated has been officially unveiled. Bit of a mouthful, that.

The remaster, developed by Purple Lamp Studios, will see the Nickelodeon icon skip onto PS4 in 2020. There's not much more information to go on right now, but we imagine this will be a fairly straightforward port with updated visuals.
