@Neolit I'm really hoping for this too. We have 7 ds4s, a racing wheel, move controllers, and I just got the Astro C40. I know it may be a pipe dream but really hoping all of that works on the ps5!

@Neolit if the PSVR works then surely its controllers and camera would, also if all the games work their is no guarantee that a PS5 controller will have the same available buttons such as the touch pad

Sony could also emulate PS1-3.

PS3 might be a little challenging.

They could even sell these system emulators in PS Store.

But they won't do it, because they want to sell old games one at a time.

Hope party chat works cross gen that would be much better for me personally but this is good news too

It will be great if ps5 can do bc with digital ps1 and ps2 games with good software graphics upgrade (like when using emulations on pc).

@GamerDad66 Why waste money on that. I would love it too but i think most people dont even those games anymore. And i have too be honest if it would have been mine company i would not waste my funds on a few people.

What is the point of supporting Sony if they going to continue on censoring games.

@Neolit yup me as well. Will be getting at least one 5 on launch day and it would definitely help offset some of the upfront costs. I would probably end up upgrading eventually anyways (especially for PSVR 2.0) but would be a big boost at launch.

The more they talk about the PS5 the more it sounds like a PS4 Proier Pro. A New PS4 w/ SSD instead of a HDD. Which I suppose is a good thing.

Speaking of the SSD, won't the "no loading times" PS5 give cross-Gen players a huge advantage over last Gen players in vs games or will the PS5 games just crawl when played cross-gen?

All this talk of a seamless transition makes me wonder if 5 will be like another pro, they sell one game but based on the console you use you will get different quality/features.

Its not a surprise to me - Xbox does that too with their BC games - I bet some 360 Online games now have no 360 gamers but if there were, you could still play with 360 gamers, still form parties etc. It shouldn't be split between generations in the same 'edition'. Its bad enough when 'new' games (like CoD Ghosts did) split the user base because of the different generational releases.

@Neolit I like Mafia 3 as well, I thought the critics were quite harsh on it. The soundtrack alone makes it worth playing!

That's the benefits of using an x86 processor people just a pc form console, let's you still use what you've set up with the OS PS4 uses. Cross chat should work fine in all fairness it would probably use the same system but hopefully it will be faster and less sluggish.

So with a game like GTA5 online that was not updated after a certain point, how would that be cross-play with the next gen. Can GTA5 PS3 users play online with PS4 users. Seems alot of content would be unavailable. And I agree that fast SSD could put slow HDD users at a disadvantage if they're paired together

This is not noteworthy news. Xbox has been doing this a while now. Know what would really impress me? Spend some of this PS4 bank and make a van damme PS3 emulator for this thing. Show how much "For the Players" you really are

@Neolit to hell with that camera. That pos is hardly a step up from the ps2 eye toy and is a major hindrance to the psvr along with the move wands. I'd more than gladly throw money at true 3d space vr sensors and motion controls.

@Neolit cross gen XB1 vs 360 gaming via backwards compatibility has been a thing. For as long as BC on XB1 has been a thing. What PS branded rock have you been living under?

@Neolit Also that whole thing about PS3 emulation? Moot. Why? Because THE PLAYERS want player choice and this PS Now crap ain't cutting the mustard. A full PS3 emulation solution should have been in the works from the word go with the PS4 but Sony had to make that Gaikai money back. A piss poor investment.
Again this is not newsworthy. Im waiting to be impressed. PS5 next system more powerful? Who knows. Who cares really as they both will probably be neck and neck as always anyways. Just like the last two gens, one does somethings better than the other and vice versa.

This is the sort of cross play I like and not cross play with Xbox LIVE gamers

@Rolyatthegoon Dont't forget you can even do Lan parties for games like Left 4 Dead between ones and 360s. As well as Lan parties for Crimson Skies between Xbox, 360, and One.

I'm a single player gamer so doesn't affect me, but I am happy for everyone that does multiplayer.
