Days Gone has been the apple of Sony’s eye for a good six months now, and the publisher continues to find new ways to create promotional videos ahead of launch. This latest clip is billed as a gameplay trailer, but in essence it’s 30 seconds of YouTube pre-roll designed to push pre-orders as the title shuffles agonisingly close to release.
This isn't the only trailer uploaded over the Easter holiday, though. Below is an overview of what you can expect to find in the open world:
And finally, why not take a tour of developer Bend Studio? May as well, right?

Glad this is getting a lot of hype now. I think Sony must be confident in this one to have been pushing it as hard as they have lately.
I'm excited.
in all my time playing video games.since 1981. I never rooted for anyone like Sony bend to make a great game.and with days gone.i believe they will deliver.i been with bend studio.when they were 989 studios. eidetic. since day 1 with syphon filter.love those guys for bringing my favorite ps1 game ever syphon filter.and my third favorite franchise ever.gabe Logan was the best in ps1. so can't wait for days gone.i have faith in bend studio.word up son
@roe Or its not getting they hype/pre-sales they expected so they are pushing hard.
Don't they do this for all of their first party games tho. but watch when it scores high reviews watch the people who had no interest in the game and were bashing it jump all over it.
The gameplay trailer didn't really have much gameplay.
Flogged harder than a bad boy in a dark room.
Or David Dickinson.
It's kind of tough to get excited for this one. Zombie games have been everywhere in the last 10 years.
I see game UK now have collectors edition with statue... something going on...as stated in previous posts, never bought a game in advance before...hope my critical analysis of 40 years of gaming doesn’t let me down....
Days gone looks excellent. Unfortunately it does have a few unfair challenges the most obvious being that both zombies and open world survival have been done to death. The stranger or should I say more infuriating part of it is it chooses a narrative that our absurdly biased media (looking at you Kotaku and polygon)won't agree with. Zombies are great because they can represent group think and the masses. looking at the world days gone builds it's easy to see there is a comparison to Americas forgotten middle class, there are American flags flying high in each homestead Decan is the classic American son, the non conforming loner on his bike... or in the media's own words " another stereotypical white American male protagonist" and while I think a whole lot of us can look past such trivialities and learn how to feel for a character based on thier actions, ideology and persona... Unfortunately in Trump's America everything has to be marginalized into sex race religion and politics. Makes me sick, I hope I'm wrong I really do.
@WasabiPeanut Pre-Orders extremely high, hype levels are crazy at the moment, so no its doing very well.
@waluigifan1
Zombi is the first game developed by Ubi Soft. in 86
#zombie fatigue haha
@Maximums4083
I would nt mind Kotaku like sites fall for it. Just a good laugh, thats what they are good for.
@waluigifan1 I call BS on that. Many claim zombie fatigue but then Resident Evil 2 Remake excitement was through the roof. TLoU 2 excitement, through the roof. It’s only zombie fatigue when it’s Days Gone. It’s the popular game to hate on.
I always wanted Rockstar to make a full on zombie game in the GTA type city. I want to look out a building window and see hordes filling the roads completely. I want to build vehicles with flame throwers and saws sticking out the side and mow down zombies. Basically I want GTA+Days gone+WWZ+Dead Rising+Just Cause all in one amazing Rockstar package.
Open World Zombie game....meh
Sony Exclusive...YEAH!
I will definitely give Sony the benefit of the doubt and play Day One!
I read the headline as if Sony's flogging days had gone (in the described fashion). Poor Sony.
@Knuckles-Fajita What's the difference?
It’s good to see Sony really pushing the marketing for this. I saw an ad at half time on Monday Night Football and I think it’s important they advertise it widely as possible. I think there is a large amount of the gaming community that don’t frequent gaming websites every day and you want to reach the attention of those people to help it be a success.
Seeing the real-time weather change on reddit from dry land to snow, this game weather system is really impressive. Also I heard on reddit the story is really good, day 1 for me if the reviews is good
With articles starting to appear about a version 1.03 day one patch weighing in (reportedly), at 17gb+ focused on bug fixes, I'm curious if most of the reviews will be effectively based off that older build rather than the day one patched one now though?
I'll admit initially was more keen for other first party stuff like TLOU 2, but after more recent showings thru last year & esp. previews this year i'm a lot closer to being a day 1 buyer now...just annoying when big patches are needed vs if only they waited a few more weeks before announcing a date.
I still don't fully understand what this game even is, so I'm waiting for it to come out and see what people are saying. An open world zombie survival game (Is that even what it is?) could either be very interesting or very boring depending on how this is handled.
i don't much care for day's gone, but for the sake of the studio, i hope it does well. i would like to see a syphon filter reboot from bend on the ps5!
The "author" of this tripe, is clearly asserting that the game developer, and Sony, have no right promoting their product. As for "saturation" goes, one must be willing to saturate a thing. So who's fault is that? Ridiculous point of view. Some people find any reason for negativity.
@Areus This is almost exactly what I'm expecting. I don't think we'll probably be seeing any perfect scores, but likely 8 across the board just from what I've surmised from what different people have said about the game already, and just judging by the newer previews. People gave God of War a lot of grief pre-release because it was different from previous games in the series. But, after it released and it received critical acclaim, practically everyone was in love with it, and for good reason. And people don't take so kindly to new IPs as they used to. I think this will be a good game, but not superb, and there's nothing wrong with that. And the fact that it isn't a game that innovates doesn't make it the worst thing to exist in the known universe.
The biggest problem this game has is it isn’t half as exciting as Spider-Man, or God Of War, or Horizon Zero Dawn.
It looks like a lot of other Zombie games before it, despite what the quality of the game is.
@Onion
It's primarily a story driven game.
This vid is a bit old but very good for understanding what it's about.

I'm waiting for actual reviews by actual gamers before I even put this in my shopping basket. So far, I'm not convinced this will be any good...
If it's anything like the quality of other first party games on PS4. It will be brilliant.
The previews looks positive, it seems this will be another hit 1st party games for sony
As usual this game gets as much bad perception as all the other ps exclusives.
I bet if this was a multiplat game that we would not see those "zombie fatigue" comments.
Kinda sad that so many people try to bring a game down just because they can't play it.
If this game scores an 8 there will still be people saying that it is a bad score...
@JoeBlogs
But to the average PS4 owner who is a borderline casual fan (me for example), I don't see the size of the horde. I see a browny-grey looking open world game where you shoot guns and try to avoid zombie monsters. It doesn't have a guy in a Spider suit or a guy with a big flying axe fighting ogres or robot dinosaurs. That's the sort of thing to get the non commited PS4 owner to part with their cash.
Not to say it won't be a great game, but it's a harder sell with this visual/genre hanging around it's neck.
@jdv95 Facts, nothing but truth in your statement.
It just doesn't excite me like other PS4 exclusives, the zombie setting and the gameplay doesn't look like something I haven't seen before and I don't like the look of the protagonist.
I'll wait for reviews and only pick it up if they're overwhelmingly positive and insist it's 'unmissable'.
Is that screaming woman his wife? Makes sense as to why he chokes on shooting her when he first sees her. Just a guess, I have no idea on anything about this one.
It does look like it might be a good game, but certainly no pre-orders for me anymore, what with some of the recent debacles. Will wait for some player reviews.
Humans worshipping zombies? Wth?!
Looks like another Sony exclusive that'll draw us into its world! Zombies, open world, yep seen them before. But... Got a funny feeling this will be another Sony developed game par excellence!
To preorder... Or not to preorder...
I've certainly budgeted for it.
Hmmm...
@deepspace5d Well Resident Evil 2 was a highly requested remake and we don't need to say anymore more about Last of Us 2. This game just has a been there, done that feeling. Once reviews come in, I'm sure my opinion will change though.
@JJ2 Did you also know Ubisoft made ZombiU as well. They are so creative with titles sometimes.
@waluigifan1
Haha I didn't know about that one.
I remember the old days of playing on Amstrad when Ubi was making a name for themselves.
@waluigifan1 Or because its a new IP who knows. And marketing is so important.
@waluigifan1
I'm already feeling sorry for people putting much faith in Game Informer review. I saw some gameplay from the reviewer playing. He just seemed... Bad.. Like dying all the time doing some random stuff. He was saying its your typical open world game. Doing mission here. Taking out some camp there. That should go you skeptical way hahs
@JJ2 That reminds me of when Cuphead came out The one reviewer couldn't even pass the tutorial level. Said it was too hard.
@JJ2
Thanks, that video was better than any of the trailers I've seen so far, now I have a much better idea of the kind of game it is.
@WanderingBullet Well I mean, Jesus rose from the dead, so there's a precedent.
They "flog" it to the same extent as every other PS4 excusive title.
