We pretty much know that Blizzard is hard at work on Diablo 4. Many were expecting an announcement to arrive at last year's BlizzCon, but were left disappointed when a mobile title was revealed instead. Now, it seems as though we won't be getting news of the game any time soon, or any other Blizzard titles for that matter.
Activision went over the company's plans for 2019 during its recent earnings call, confirming that no major releases from Blizzard will emerge this year. That's not to say it won't be pushing out smaller games or updates to its ongoing titles, but don't expect Diablo 4, or anything on that level, for the time being.
However, it was reaffirmed that multiple Diablo titles are on the way, and development teams will apparently be expanded later in the year, so work on the franchise is ongoing. Will Diablo 4 emerge in 2020, or will it be even longer before we hear anything? Hunt for loot in the comments below.

I need to start up Diablo 3 again. I haven't played it in years.
Is it better to try to get into Diablo 2 or 3 as a newcomer? Bear in mind I have a Switch so I can get that sick af Ganondorf skin.
@nessisonett Personally, I think you could jump straight in to Diablo 3. The game story isn't a 'big' reason to play in my opinion, its the game-play, the multiple characters and abilities/gear you can get with the story more of a way to progress, open up new areas, increase your stats and get new gear.
I am sire there will be some that are heavily invested in the story and lore but I don't think its 'necessary' to this game. If you want to play them in order, fair enough but I don't think it really matters if you want to jump in at 3.
As for the fact that Diablo 4 is 'unlikely' this year and Bungie leaving and taking Destiny with them, you can see why Blizzard maybe focusing on the mobile version first to get all the micro-transaction associated with mobile gaming in. I know that maybe somewhat a cynical viewpoint but the industry in general is wholly to blame...
And I bet Overwatch will go free to play soon I really do
I'd play diablo 2 and 3 in that order 2 has the best story to it and the gameplay is more fun because you have to plan your build right, in 3 I've never had that experience because you don't have skill points. I honestly had more fun with 2 that 3 it went until I got Reaper of Souls that I was hooked for a few months. I mean o bought 3 at launch pass the horrible login issue and I played for about 4 weeks straight and it took me 2 3 years to start again. In fact I went back to 2 during that time
PS5 it is then.
WoW Classic is out this year and it’s gonna be huge (not new, I know).
I mean, they haven't even announced the game, and Blizzcon is in November. Was anyone actually expecting this game in 2019?
@Nakatomi_Uk Nope they slashed the game to 20$ that's final indication it will not go f2p.
It took Blizzard 12 years to relase Diablo 3 after Diablo 2 so why does everyone think that it's not going to be similar to Diablo 4? People need to learn patience.
@Fandabidozi I am hoping that it will find it's way to console.
No one's really happy with Blizzard right now...
But they could still do a few things that people would like:
1) Add Druid/Shapeshifter to D3 (maybe VIT as primary stat).
2) Release D1 (PS1 port) in the PlayStation store as
a digital DL.
3) Announce D2 Remaster for PC and console.
4) Soften their mobile stance on Diablo Immortal and release it for Switch as well (with other consoles to follow).
5) Then officially announce & date Diablo 4.
They should
1) Release Diablo 2 Remaster and or add the currently version to the Battle.net launcher
2) Add Druid, Amazon to D3
3) Announce D4 is in development
4) Move resources away from Immortal to D4
5) Ship D4 to consoles and Switch if it comes out in Switches timeframe or it's next gen offering.
6) Stop being a complete **** to fans who supported you over the years
