You could be forgiven for not paying attention, but PlayStation VR has an impressive library these days. Sony’s really pushing the hardware, er, hard at the moment – resulting in montage trailers like the one embedded above. This clip heavily promotes some of the headset’s more recent hits, but there’s a huge catalogue available now that’s begging to be explored.
Not sure where to start? Maybe our list of the Best PSVR Games could help you.

Bought my VR during black friday, even though I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. But its great and never actually noticed the VR library was as big as it is before I got it.
There are a lot of titles but there are also a lot not worth owning
It has a lot of great games but also some bad ones (as expected). I mean, at the end, you can clearly see Ghostbusters VR, Ark Park and Planet of the Apes. Also, is quite sad that the only china developed games that I found here were Salary Man and Animal Force. While the former was okay, the latters was very mediocre. They could have at least throw in Light Tracer, Ancient Amuletor and 18 Floors. You know, actual decent china developed games? Well, to some extent.
One big problem I have with PSVR is that its library is still cluttered with tech demos, and the latest release Gungrave VR is no exception, and it's possibly the worst example, because unlike most tech demos on the PSVR, this one costs $40.
@Rawzuka “But its great and never actually noticed the VR library was as big as it is before I got it.”
Exactly. The amount of times I’ve had to explain this to people is ridiculous. People think there is nothing to play on it. They all think it’s “10 minute experiences”. Haha. The library is massive and has tons of great games.
If I buy PSVR, it'll be for: Rez Infinite, Thumper, Tetris Effect, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, and RE VII.
Unsure but open to Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, which seems to be a sort of rail shooter. Not excited about buying the little Wiimote things to play it, though.
It definitely isn't a terrible bunch of games. I'm dying to play a few of them in VR (or, in the case of Astro Bot, at all). I'm just not sure if they're worth investing in an expensive peripheral.
Had a PSVR headset since launch and admittedly it was a bit of a slow build for me. Rarely used it for months at a time initially.
But now it's on a roll and I've got a whole variety of games (I Expect You To Die, Skyrim VR, Sprint Vector, Firewall, Astro Bot, Wipeout to name a few).
Definitely worth getting now. Especially at the cheaper price point!
@hotukdeals Agreed. Plenty of (game) buyers remorse around, spurred on and influenced by curiosity of the experience. Beware.
@Rawzuka and Borderland 2 VR comes out in three days
@Hengist true. It's easy to get excited and get a bunch of cheap games that kind of suck haha.
@Ralizah Thumper is a lot of fun. I bought that myself. RE7 obviously is good, and the Astro Bot demo sold me on buying it later. I don't even need to wonder, I will want Tetris.
Though FYI you don't need PS Move (Wii Motes) for Rush of Blood. They do allow you to aim your weapons in different directions, but the PS4 controller has a light and is tracked. You can just hold that up and shoot, but your hands always aim together. It actually still works really well and you won't be disappointed. The fear factor is all there. Move's are just even better.
Still waiting on that Beat Sabre review! (Might just buy it anyway, looks awesome).
I finally decided to treat myself today (thanks to work Xmas bonus) and ordered myself a PS4 VR mega pack from Argos, which is coming tonight! It comes with 5 games (Astro bot, Skyrim vr, Doom Vfr, Wipeout and VR worlds. Also ordered Moss with it. Will also look through my current games to see what is VR compatible (I know Resi 7 and GT Sport are for example) I’m Still on the fence about VR so may regret it, but am willing to give it a go. What I’m more worried about, is that some people say they have trouble going back to “regular” games after playing in VR!
@KleebanKliban Didn't know that. Thanks! If I get PSVR, I'll definitely try Rush of Blood with the DS4 first to see how comfortable it is. I like gyro aiming on Switch and PC, so I can't imagine why I'd have an issue with it here.
@Nightcrawler71 nice one you're going to have a great night tonight.
IF you start getting a bit motion sickness feeling, then do take a break as you get used to it. I found adjusting the eye distance setting to quite wide really helped me enjoy it more (my eyes slightly point in different directions).
Further recommendations include Rez, Thumper and Tetris Effect of course.
And watch some 3D bluray on it too, it's brilliant!
@Futureshark cheers for your reply and advice 👍
I love my VR, currently I play crystal Rift which I like a lot and my next buy will probably be an Aim controller.
If I had to recommend just one game, that would be WipeOut, a must buy imo.
@Ralizah some great games in your list and Until Dawn is fun too, those move controllers are actually pretty fantastic in VR and in the right games feel like you have your hands in there and it's all so natural and I hated the wiimotes 😉
Also Mia and the Baker family are a lot scarier when you're actually in the house with them oh and Astro Bot is brilliant 😁
@carlos82 I was watching some footage of Beat Saber. Don't care for the music, but if the motion controls are on point, I could still see it being a very involving experience.
If I do get the Move controllers, though, it'll be used, as retail prices for them are kind of crazy.
@Ralizah yeah it's basically one to one tracking as opposed to waggle and it uses the lights and motion sensors together for tracking and you'll be surprised how easily you'll interact with games using them, picking things up and throwing them about as if they were really in your hands. The only real downside is the cost and your best bet is to find a bundle with them included, though there are plenty of games that the dualshock is great for playing with
