Beyond Good & Evil 2 still seems so far off, doesn't it? The project does seem to be making some progress, however, as Ubisoft recently held a live stream in which it went over the current state of the game. If you don't have an hour to spare, the publisher has pieced together an abridged version that hits all the main points, and it looks like Michel Ancel and his team is taking things up a notch.
We won't outline everything here, but let's just say it's looking pretty darn ambitious. Your character, equipment, and vehicle are all fully customisable, online co-op won't tether players together in the huge open world, and travel from the ground to outer space is seamless. From orbit, you can even look down at the planet below and see landmarks, where your co-op partner may still be exploring.
It sounds bananas. If Ubisoft can pull everything off, it could be quite the accomplishment. Let's hope the game sees the light of day sooner rather than later.

Looks kinda janky.
@Enuo It's definitely not close to being complete but for a game this ambitious, it's looking like it'll at least live up to the hype.
So it's unnecessarily large but what can you actually do in it?
Canโt wait because the first game is one of my favorite games ever.
it's a online game.wtf๐ฑword up son
Would it have killed Ubisoft and Ancel to make a single-player, story-driven, and linear BG&E sequel? Isn't that what people wanted? Not another online-centered open-world game that's easy to monetize?
Or maybe I'm just a fossil.
So its online only? It looks boring and its liveserviceeeeee ofcourse. Probably almost no story just a big boring version of Farcry. ๐คข๐คข๐คฎ
https://www.gamesradar.com/beyond-good-evil-2-news/ Sounds fun no not really
Seems completely unrelated to the first game so why not just come up with a different title?
I don't think I can get over how ugly all the main characters look. It can be a well done game, but I'm not playing as that. No way I'm looking at that the whole time. I don't expect supermodels, but better than dang ugly.
If someone showed me this footage and asked me to guess what game it is... I would never in a million years guess it's related to BG&E. As a big fan of the original, this looks NOTHING like what I want out of a sequel.
is this game not single player campigan mode ?
Guys, give it some time... It's still early smh
@RBMango Well I'm another fossil and this just looks boring and nothing like the original game, particularly from an aesthetic standpoint.
I'm tired of everything having to be an open world game and every time they are it's called ambitious. What's ambitious about having 1000's of miles worth of terrain with literally nothing on it? It doesn't help that it's Ubisoft and that you can see parts of its other games bleeding into it and I cant wait to see what its microtransaction store looks like.
Who knows maybe it'll be better than its been presented so far but give me a well designed linear game full of gameplay instead of another open world all day long
@carlos82 Took the words right out of my mouth.
Man, tough crowd
It never ceases to amaze me when a game as loved as BG&E is advertised for a sequel and they go and strip everything that everyone actually loved about the original in the first place. A good story driven games with a great cast! I mean, who actually hires these fools that sit round a big table, brain storming ideas about what people actually want from a game? Just sack them all and hire chimps with cymbals and party hats.
As ambitious as No Man's Sky?
Combat looks janky. I hope they also focus on the finer details instead of making everything as big as possible.
Anyway, I assume you can play this offline, can you? Because if it's some always online nonsense, I'll skip.
@3MonthBeef I agree with your point. I think, being 35 I'm just stuck in the past when it comes to what a great game should be and what makes it great. I would like to hear the opinion from a 16 year old on a game like A link to the past. I'm sure it wouldn't be the same as mine ๐คฃ
@RBMango Wait, is it an online game? Thatโs awful then.
Lost me at BG&E being am "online game". What a waste. Guess they learned NOTHING from God of war lol
tbh this looks kinda interesting, but they are banking hard on that no man sky feel for better or worse.
Don't think it is an "online" game, you just have the option.
What I do think is that this one is for the PS5... or it'll take all of your HDD space, or both
yeah that's a next gen game to be sure
I just hope this is not in a pre-alfa state, but a pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre-alpha. When I imagine how empty this "world" is gonna be, I'm already rushing to preorder the game.
i'd rather michel ancel went back to making progress on Wild. that looked way more promising than this.
@RoyalGuard
They learned that they should make a game bigger and more exciting than the game prior to it. Not slower and way more boring
This game's at least, like, four years off.
@PS_Nation Unfortunately, it's been described that way by Ancel and Ubisoft multiple times. Ubisoft is absolutely obsessed with live services nowadays, so expect BG&E2 to be one as well.
While we're on the subject of Michel Ancel, whatever happened that PS4 exclusive WiLD? That thing hasn't been seen in over three years.
@3MonthBeef @Flaming_Kaiser Well, remember Ubisoft likes to use names from a series even when the game is completely unrelated. Even if itโs good game, it could be an awful BG&E game. It represent an overall problem of it making new IPs. It it also just feels kinda greedy and a Uni trends that needs to be punished with slow sales.
It looks like it needs to be a new IP. Same way with AC, itโs called that despite having lost all respect connection the AC series now.

You completed a Uplay action!
@carlos82 But but but with the collectables and grinding it has more then 40 hours of gameplay... ๐
@Jaz007 Is it just me or do they use so much filler in a game it ruins the fun. Syndacite was good but they could dumped half the game the boring races in every part of the city. The grind, collectables its so dissapointing.
PS5 bound I reckon...
Looks amazing i recon when it's finished it will be a massive hit. The planet they are in looks mind-blowing like a hindu planet with gods and goddesses.
@Flaming_Kaiser not if I turn it off after 10 minutes ๐
Ironically I've spent longer than that playing through the original version of my avatar several times back on the ps1 (and again on N64 and on GameCube, I quite like it). See that's what these developers don't understand, the amount of gameplay is purely how long you want to play and replay a game, not because they make it artificially longer with giant maps filled with collectables or make you have a five minute horse ride to and from every mission ๐
Just make a fun game that is always engaging
@steventonysmith didn't ask nor want your opinion.....So your welcome to share with someone else tho.
Wow this game is looking very promising
@delukze Probably a team 10 times as big, more then 10 times the budget, and no flood that washed away most of their progress. ๐
@Flaming_Kaiser A flood washed away most of their work?๐ฑ
