If you enjoyed the rather lovely remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap from last year, odds are you'll be interested in this. Billed as a spiritual successor to the old-school series, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom launched at the beginning of December, and you can see it in action in the above trailer.
It's a side-scrolling 2D platformer that stars a boy who can transform into various creatures with different abilities -- the snake can slither through small holes, the frog can swing from its tongue on grapple points, and so on. There's a reason it looks so similar to the old Wonder Boy games -- Ryuichi Nishizawa, the original creator, has collaborated on this project to bring the franchise back under a new name. The result looks pretty good, and as we said, it's out right now.

Looks good, will there be a review for this one?
Gonna get this game. Looks awesome and has dat Shantae-vibe I like.
I still need to pick up the Wonder Boy game and that one was my favourite game on the Master System, so I'll be looking to pick this one up too
If the price is right I'll get it but no if it's 25 like some indies I mean I can get triple A games for that or less not saying it's not worth it but they look expensive compared to other games
@Steel76 Me too, loved playing the games on the Master System. Playing the remaster last year brought back some fond memories! This is on my list, fo sure!
Looks stunning, very tempted!
Got the physical release from Amazon, but haven't started it yet. Independent reviews on Youtube suggest it's a gem.
