Wow, this is a pretty big leak. A whole slew of screenshots from Assassin's Creed Odyssey have appeared online, showcasing the game's world, menus, parts of the map, boat sailing, combat, dialogue options, and the face of the title's protagonist.
Going by the pics, you'll once again have control over an avian ally who's able to mark out enemies and give you -- literally -- a birds-eye view of your current area. As a whole, Odyssey looks a heck of a lot like Assassin's Creed Origins, which comes as no surprise.
It also looks like the big ship battles from Origins will be expanded upon, as have certain role-playing elements such as loot in the form of different armour pieces. Oh, and there appear to be big group battles on show, too.
Of course, we'll get to see Odyssey in action during Ubisoft's E3 2018 press conference tomorrow. The real question is: will the game actually launch this year, or next?
How do you think Odyssey looks? Are you looking forward to seeing more? Set sail in the comments section below.

I think this looks good IF its a 2019 release but if they have gone back to yearly releases, I can see issues.
Looks really nice but also very familiar.
Looks exactly like origins ffs. Back to the same old yearly AC are we
Yeah I don't see how they can keep the gameplay fresh and interesting releasing these things yearly. It all goes into building the world, characters and story surely? Then after a few years the wheels fall off.
i hope they got rid of the level system Origins had, nothing more immersion breaking that having to stop and do side quests just to get your level high enough to carry on the story
side quests are meant to be optional, hence the name "SIDE QUEST"
I'm up for more Origins, honestly. But I'm not sure a 2018 release is wise, Origins still feels fairly new, and this looks very, very similar.
You have to remember that this game has already had the same extra year Origins had as there are always about 3 of these being made by different studios on rotation much like COD. I think from the pictures it looks like it could be ready to release this year.
From the first picture it looks like a heart next a dialogue option. Are they adding the option to romance characters? I really enjoyed Origins, if they double down on adding more rpg like elements maybe like branching stories that could be interesting.
Im playing (and loving) origins now, so definitely NOT up for more AC anytime soon. The series really does not need continuous releases like this. And i am tired of ubis massive worlds with all these markers to uncover. Just pads out the game. Also Ancient Greece just doesnt have the same appeal as Egypt
I liked Origins and finished it (and the DLC) months ago so a new AC game in the same vein with a different setting would be great. The big issue with releasing this year would be Red Dead Redemption 2 and the amount of hours that can eat up...
Man it looks amazing.kratos should make a guest appearances in this game.ariesssssssssss.😁😱💪.word up son
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's not Bayek? Thought Odyssey was a continuation of his story?
It will be interesting to see when this is coming out, I thought The Division 2 was going to be their big release this winter. And Splinter Cell has to fit somewhere too, if the rumours true.
looks to much like origins tbh. if they said this is just a dlc i would very much believe it.
not impressed so far.
and those dialogue options are a bit to much of a rpg aspect for an ac game. the rpg stuff in origins was good enough no need to expand on that even more. ac was never a full on RPG game and it should not become one.
also it's a bummer that naval stuff will play a big role again. it was nice in black flag but i don't like it in other ac games (exept in origins because that was just 2/3 missions).
@BearsEatBeets It will be interesting to see how the release dates fit in, but I think we're getting AC Odyssey in Winter 2018, Splinter Cell in February 2019 and The Division 2 in March 2019. Christmas is too early for Splinter Cell, as it's not even been officially confirmed yet. The first Division did very well in it's release date, so I think Ubisoft will use the same marketing strategy. AC is a safe bet for Ubisoft at Christmas as it's their flagship series. It makes a lot of sense for them.
Personally, I'd really like to see Watch Dogs 3 get announced on Monday. I'm a huge fan of the series and I'm very excited for The Crew 2, it looks so fun, even though I hated the first.
Looks so much like Origins, hope they change some things! The eagle again? Come on!
Hate to be that guy, but...
amount =/= number
i rather have watch dogs 3 to be announced at the conference to be released this october/november and ac be released next year.
but ofcourse that won't happen.
and that eagle made sense for bayek now it just seems to be another gimick for the sake of it being there. just go back to eagle vision atleast that made some sense as to why all the playable assassins had it.
I really enjoyed Origins, so I'm more than happy to get more Assassin's Creed
This might be at Microsoft's event like last year so we could possibly know in several hours when it's coming. The pictures show xbox buttons again.
I loved origins, but it would be nice to maybe have a female assassin take the lead. No offense to all the fantastic men ( not you connor you sucked ) haha
I also loved Origins but I burnt myself out on it going for the plat so I'll wait a while before I pick this next one up. Also, when are they gonna go with a female lead? Evie Frye was a breath of fresh air.
@ApostateMage Evie was fantastic, played her more than Jacob. Just nice for a change, boobs still can't be that hard. Come on ubisoft
I'm still burnt out on AC, haven't even got round to Origins yet so this is way too soon for me. Especially if it's 2018 release which it looks like it could be.
I was hoping that Ubi had learnt its lesson and changed this to two year release schedule...
Also wtf don't they do a Feudal Japan setting or Chinese legend? Would be perfect for AC.
@Hootnoodle @ApostateMage I'm with you guys, Evie kicked ass. I was bummed when the game made you play Jacob for certain missions.
@BearsEatBeets team Evie all the way
'Huge number'. The word is 'number'.
Think it looks good, I’m more excited about Ancient Greece than Ancient Egypt
Judging by the map and objectives, is it about the Peloponnesian war?
Great to see this looks just as good as Origins so far.
@naruball @RainbowGazelle I desperately wanted the alliteration of Amount, Assassin, and Ahead. Worth it.
@ShogunRok I'm only mentioning it because I see it here all the time.
(not a big deal, but just pointing out that it's common in articles, even reviews)
Looks breathtaking tbh
please don't release this game in this year.. i am taking a break by playing more AC games.. let me play Watch Dogs 3 that take in London setting and i am happy to play new game of Splinter Cell
Looks very similar to Origins, more like a DLC really. Shame about the dialogue aspects, obviously pushing AC more and more down the RPG path...
