Sony has not been shy about fast-tracking a boatload of patches for God of War. In the game's first week, a new update was available almost daily as Santa Monica Studio churned out a godly amount of bug fixes.
While things have slowed down recently, it seems we're far from seeing the last of these updates. The developer has stated what we can expect in upcoming patches, and they sound much more substantial than what we've been seeing so far. First and foremost, the Photo Mode update is still on its way, while the text size in menus and subtitles is going to be enlarged globally. No more squinting at journal entries, then. There are also plans to add the option to remap Spartan Rage, which is currently activated by clicking L3 and R3.
In addition, the studio will be continuing its bug-squashing quest, including a fix for "an issue where selecting the 'New Game' option from the main menu without closing down the application first may result in missing dialogue and possible progression blockers." We currently don't know any time frames for these updates.

Im waiting for the photo mode before jumping back on GoW. Too many amazing photo opportunities. Give us the update NOW! Grrrrrr.
"It is not ready"
Haven't bought it yet, but good to see there'll be some improvements by the time I pick it up.
I'm fine with their post-launch support, but to be honest, I would've expected photo mode earlier. Finished the story two days ago and now I'm cleaning up all the regions to 100%, there'll be not much left to do without a NG+ option after that. Maybe I'll try the highest difficulty after photo mode has been added.
Remapping of Spartan Rage would be a welcome option for me. I ended up in Spartan Rage more often than I wanted to.
Personally I have finished with the game after getting the Platinum. Photo mode wasn't of interest to me anyway and never use these - regardless of how great the game is, how many awesome scenes there are etc. I can understand why a Photo mode wasn't in place at launch with a number of potential spoilers that could be revealed in a photo - not just places or bosses either.
The remapping of Spartan Rage would be a great fix. The amount of time I accidentally went into Spartan Rage was ridiculous - although you can cancel/stop it too by using the same method you activate it - but can lose a little chunk of your rage meter.
Support so far has been first class. Sony is embarrassing the competition at this point.
What I really want is NG+ now. I'm getting close to mopping up the last of the optional quests (not the collectables though. Life's too short to hunt for tat) so it would be nice to dive back in.

Would be nice if they added NG+. Would make the highest difficulty less of a pain.
Little annoying but it's not a big problem. It's weird that downloading the patch is faster than "copying" it, I guess "copying" is installing the patch.
A patch a day keeps the god smashing... erm "okay"?
New Game Plus please
@SoulsBourne128 Again, how will NG+ actually work? Almost 'everything' that you acquire throughout is story related - inc Atreus and his 'tools' too. Even a LOT of the skills you poured XP into upgrading are related to things you had to acquire through story progression. If you had everything to start, then at least half of the story would be pointless as the purpose of the quest was to acquire these 'tools'. Its not easy to explain without spoilers.
If the highest difficulty is too much for you, the drop down to the lower difficulty settings - you don't get penalised or don't get a trophy/platinum because you didn't beat the game on the highest difficulty setting. If you want an easier ride through, start a new game and play on the easiest setting.
They could, I guess, strip you of everything that you had to go on a mission to acquire - leaving you with just the armour and enchantments. Yes the Axe would be upgraded but that's it. You may have a max health and Rage meter too - but the chests would just contain duplicates of stuff you already have - they weren't 'random'.
I really do think the game is too 'linear' and structured to acquire 'tools' as you progress through the story. Its not like AC Origins or HZD where the only difference is the 'level' of weapons/armour you have at the end. Its not like you have to go on a story mission to acquire a 'Bow' in those games to be able to open up the next 'area' that if you had a Bow could bypass that entire mission and basically skip to the end.
@b1ackjack_ps The final upgrades are not locked behind thevstory ending at all - you can acquire the 'parts' as soon as you open up access to those areas and can complete those areas before undertaking the 'final' stages if you wanted.
It maybe that they are a bit of a grind but there is nothing stopping you from acquiring the parts necessary before you go into the 'final' parts of the story. You don't get a penultimate upgrade in those missions that you must have before you can apply the 'final' upgrade.
Yeesh, they're going patch crazy with this thing. Looking forward to a second play through with photo mode.

@ShogunRok If there is was one feature that absolutely needs to be standard in games today but isn’t, it’s new game plus. It’s mind boggling that applicable games don’t have it.
Please keep polishing the game, because sometimes the graphics colour seems to cartoony please make it photorealistic on par with the likes of uncharted and, the movement please do make it more fluid than what we have now kratos walking movement seems like batman arkham/robot please make the fingers movement not like holding/punching something to make it much more realistic, its an great game overall
