Well, well, well. Who do we have here? Hit pause at the 1:39 mark in the new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, and you can see a young John Marston being pushed to his knees. This is followed by a close up of his face as someone holds a knife to it. Nasty. It's also worth pointing out that John's scars seem relatively fresh, so we'll probably get to find out where they came from.
For those totally out of the loop on this one, John Marston was the main playable character of Red Dead Redemption. In Red Dead Redemption 2, you play as a different character named Arthur Morgan, who's a member of Dutch's outlaw gang. John was also a member of this group before the events of the first game.
Anyway, it's nice seeing Mr. Marston again isn't it? Let John know you're thinking of him in the comments section below.

I'm thinking of you, John.

@ShogunRok Terrible reporting. Wonβt be visiting again.
Jk. Iβm over it.
I hope there's only 1 playable character in the main story, I don't like playing as 3 character in gta v.
The highest point of the trailer
Hope we play as him!
I'm so hyped for this I rode a horse to work today.
Iβm not surprised to see him since this has been reported before to be taking place before the events of RDR. But yeah, itβs great seeing Marston, fresh facial cuts and all. This was before he became the ugly dude he was in RDR.
@Gremio108
Pics or it didnt happen xD
What about Marstons son from RDR1, could he be returning?
I guess I haven't been paying a lot of attention, but is this a full blown prequel? I hope not.
@RedMageLanakyn Full blown prequel set before the events of RDR1.
Why would this be a bad thing?
@ToddlerNaruto They left the first RDR open for so much potential for a sequel, and we already know what happens in the past that led up to it. I don't feel like it needs to be fleshed out, I'd prefer something new.
@RedMageLanakyn There's always a possibility RDR2 covers both the past and future of RDR1.
Otherwise, you'll be most likely waiting for RDR3 on PS5 to see a proper sequel...assuming the series is still relevant by then.
@ToddlerNaruto Yeah, I mean if they go back and forth between past and present, I'm ok with that. I'll still play it if it is a full blown prequel, would just prefer it not to be.
