Amid all the announcements regarding Far Cry 5's season pass content, Ubisoft revealed that one of the most popular entries in the series, Far Cry 3, would be making its way to PlayStation 4 as a 'Classic Edition'. Yesterday, the publisher announced on Steam that the port will be releasing on 26th June 2018.
However, if you purchased the Far Cry 5 season pass, you'll be able to play Far Cry 3 Classic Edition four weeks earlier, from 29th May 2018. Pricing for the port itself has yet to be announced.

Best in the series imo but maybe that's because it was before all the re-skinning started that we've come to see from far cry games of this day and age. Lovely world, relatable lead character and one of the best if not rather psychotic bad guys in any game.
@YummyHappyPills Not even. They took out the multiplayer, so they had to call it something else...
On the other hand, it is a nice bonus and they're not charging full price for it.
"Classic edition" to me suggests that it won't be remastered in any way, just a straight port to PS4. I bought the Gold edition of FC5 which includes the season pass and thus FC3. I played & finished FC3 the first time round (on Xbox 360) but it'll be nice to have it in my PS4 library.
What a classic, I also loved Far cry 4, Far Cry Primal and I played Far cry 5 Briefly yesterday and thought it was brilliant!!! Yep i'm up for this , anyone know how much it's going to be? (apart from Season Pass for Far Cry 5)
I never got to play it so I'm excited for this. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

So..er...the CLASSIC edition works perfectly as a name then. Not sure what you're getting at to be honest. If I buy classic Coke I don't expect it to taste of cherry.

@YummyHappyPills so..? To eleborate, it's just a bit of pizzazz. When I buy something I want it to be a fun experience. I want to feel like I'm spending money on something exciting. You're being a cynic, as usual. Let people have their fun.
@YummyHappyPills But they literally can't call it Far Cry 3, because it would suggest the multiplayer is in there. So, they have to give it some type of name... and of course they're going to spin that as positive as possible. But what would you expect? That they're going to name it "Far Cry 5 - a simple port without multiplayer".

I always preferred Far Cry 2. It's the only one I've managed to stick with until the end.
I was partial to Far Cry 3 and I actually completed it twice on 360. Doubt I'll bother with it again. After all, the protagonist is a bit of a bellend.
Is no being taken out of this version
I'm confused... I have the FC5 season pass, so does this mean that FC3 will be free when it is released? Or do FC5 season pass holders only get early access and still have to pay full price for the game?
@Rooty1985 Yes you'll get it for free. The FC5 season pass includes 3 DLC packs AND FC3. You'll also get FC3 a month before it goes on general sale.
I have 3 or 4 play throughs on PS3 so a replay on PS4 is low on my list. However FC3 is a game i recommend to those yet to play it.
The location, animals , characters, story, and overall game play i found fun and interesting. If you liked FC4 and disliked FC2 then you should like FC3.
