Insomniac Games community director James Stevenson has casually taken to popular forum ResetEra to reiterate that Spider-Man will release in 2018 on the PlayStation 4. As with pretty much the entirety of Sony’s lineup right now, there’s no specific date been attached to the title, but we know that the Burbank-based developer recently held studio-wide play sessions which lasted multiple days.
Asked whether there are any plans for a collector’s edition or limited edition PS4 hardware bundle, Stevenson merely said: “Stay tuned.” Work on the title’s box art is apparently being finalised as we speak; hopefully a large press blowout is planned for the coming months.

I think it's gonna launch around the same time as the new animated Spider-Man movie. It's a double whammy for both Sony and Spider-Man.

People still doubted this? They confirmed this multiple times. TBH I think this game is closer than a lot of you seem to think.
I fully expected it this year, I just have no idea when. I was hoping for an April/May release, but it could be a summer game. Sony definitely has a full schedule with everything they are promising for 2018.
Personally I think the game will come out in summer.
If he’s on the forums stirring up interest, surely it’s not more than say, 6 months away. Drumming up a buzz is likely to be most effective within a few months. They are play testing this and putting these teasers out there, so I feel like it’s closer rather than further, as far as release date. But who knows ... sometimes these companies don’t always make logical decisions.
I recon it'll be May/June release for this but that's just a hunch.
Can't wait to see that cover art. It's one of the main reasons why I like to have physical copies of games.

@get2sammyb To be fair Sony never has been tied down by the holidays as a mandatory releasedate.
What ever date Insomniac picks I hope it's weeks apart from God Of War's release date. May seems like a pretty good time frame, something to look forward to after the new Avengers movie.
I predict a May release date personally. Otherwise, it could be released during holidays.
Also why does everyone always assume the game is coming out to coincide with the movie? Y’all said the same thing when Homecoming was approaching, and were wrong. Y’all wrong about the Infinity War/Spider-Verse speculation.

I'm still expecting a Summer 2018 release date, with maybe a delay to Fall 2018.
