Wait, what?! Capcom hosted a Mega Man anniversary stream earlier today, and it happened to drop a teensy little news nugget: Mega Man 11 is in production. Don’t believe us? There’s a trailer embedded above and it looks pretty freakin’ good. We daresay this is what Mighty No. 9 should have been.
Capcom’s keeping a tight lid on details, but more will be revealed in the summer ahead of a late 2018 release date. To keep you busy in the meantime, the publisher’s porting all Mega Man X titles to the PlayStation 4 as well. Yes, that’s – inhale – Mega Man X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and X8. Again, more details will be revealed in due time.
Update (20:00 GMT): Mega Man 11 will also be on the cover of Game Informer magazine:

Man, this looks mega!
I love Mega Man haven't played one in forever, might have to keep my open for 11!
Mighty no 11.
This is probably my time. To finally play this franchise and see what the fuss was all about.
Looks pretty good.
Also, I'm glad the X games are re-releasing.
@Nickolaidas You've got a lot of catching up to do.
@get2sammyb (Darth Vader voice) Where should I start, my master?
@Nickolaidas To be honest, I'm not a big Mega Man fan myself, so I'll let someone else answer for you.
My guess would be with one of the Legacy Collections.
Looking good!
It's better than nothing.
I started Mega Man Legacy collection on PS4 but never got past the first game. Really need to get back to it.
Switch or PS4...
@Nickolaidas mega man legacy collection is a good start. This might seem counter intuitive but play mega man 2 first, then the rest, then mega man 1. I recommend the x series as well. The nes games were difficult but fair, with the exception of the first, and if you can get it cheap then the legacy collection is a great way to play them.
@Fight_Teza_Fight just saw your comment, you can pretty much disregard the first game. It's okay but lacks a lot of the refinements that made the originals so well designed.
@Johnnycide Thanks for the tips!
It's a really good day to be a Mega Man fan.
@Johnnycide I found it really difficult, but then again I didn't give it much time. I'm going to go back to the collection at some point, so I'll definitely keep that in mind and play the first game last.
FINALLY! A proper new MM with modern graphics!
I'm really liking that Game Informer art
OMGGGGGGG
@Johnnycide Eff that Ice Man stage in the first game! 😹
Woo, Mega Man 11. It could be brilliant, but I'll wait for reviews before buying it just in case.
Wow, did NOT expected this.
Also, Megaman X7 is also getting re-release? Welp, I have nothing else to say other than...BURN TO THE GROUND!
OMG I can't wait for these, I'm sorry but it'll have to be on Switch as that is their home for me. I'll be getting both legacy collections and can't wait to play number 2 and 9 again in particular before 11 😁. As for the X collection 1-3 are great but the latter 3D ones were a bit rubbish so I'll stick woth the classics. Now we just need Konami to follow suit with Castlevania
@Nickolaidas I would start with mega man zero. Unless you're a shooty type, zero was all about swords and awesome combos.
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this will make Keiji Inafune cry like an anime fan on prom night.
There are fewer games I love more than the MM/MMX series. I'll gladly triple/quadruple dip to own them on every freakin' platform they release on!
@get2sammyb Is it a remake or are they adding the PS2 version of Mega Man X Collection to PS2 on PS4 lineup?
@Tasuki It's a new collection with every X game, which the PS2 one didn't have.
That’s some Mega news
Any one know if this will get a physical release or is it just a PSN title?
Oh my gosh - so excited! Definitely interested in 11 and I love all the x games. Amazing news.
Great news, i only played and finished Mega Man Legends recently, i really liked it. Now it's my time to finally play all these games.
Yes but will X1-X8 be in one bundle? Probably will be broken up into two bundles like the legacy collections to get more money. Still cool though.
What about Command Mission?
Never though this would actually be announced. Thought they had given up on the old Blue Bomber. But that aside, I'm so excited for this! Been a good few years now since i have played a MM game.
@Nickolaidas I personally think the x series is the best starting point. Besides it being better in my opinion than the original series, I feel like it is more balanced and beginner friendly for people new to the series.
@Nickolaidas That's very easy. Just get Mega Man Legacy Collection and MMLC2.
Play at least MM2, 3, 4, 7, 9 and 10.
@carlos82 How are you going to play Mega Man without a real D-pad?
@Orpheus79V Could have sworn the PS2 had every X game on the collection.
@Tasuki It has MMX1-6, not 7 or 8 though, i just checked my copy. Honestly those two really aren't that good....i would've rather seen MMX Command Mission in place of them.
Super excited for both of these. Will be getting both on the Switch. Capcom really surprised me with these announcements, hopefully they bring back some other franchises as well!
This is awsome cant wait. 😁😀😁😀
Yes!
YESS!! Next, port all megaman zero games to ps4
@RedMageLanakyn Ah ok been awhile since I played it. Trying to play them in order but other games get in the way.
@get2sammyb yeah same here you always hear the hype for mega man so I bought the first legacy collection and absolutely hated the games with their stiff controls and inaccurate platforming. I didn't even bother with legacy collection 2 after the bad taste the first one left.
Original Mega Man for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite please.
@Mahe Pro controller has an excellent dpad 😃
@RedMageLanakyn @Stuffgamer1 @get2sammyb Eight games? Does that mean are they leaving out MegaMan X: Command Mission?
I know it was a spinoff that didn't perform all that well, but I still enjoyed it.
@deepspace5d seeing how people complain about 5 to 7 I don’t think it will be splitted. It’s better to sell well with the bad games as a added bonus than to seperate the bad games from the good ones with a high risk of it selling bad.
Loved the Mega Man X series so really excited about that, and it's scary how much better MM 11 looks than Mighty No. 9. Just nails that charm and art style so well right from the off, and there's still plenty of development time to go!
OK so who else would LOVE Mighty Number 9 be one of the robot bosses in Mega Man 11 so we can destroy him
@Bliquid thanks, i found it on DeviantArt, as my old one was a gif i couldn't modify it for xmas
@ToddlerNaruto Yeah there was 8 MMX games, looks like no Command Mission. Unless it's a secret unlockable or something.
MEGA MAN X COLLECTION!
Although I wished for Mega Man X6 on the European and/or North American PS3 PSN years ago.....but Mega Man X Collection will release next year AND Mega Man 11.....Mega Man is back! after 7 years. Even though Street Fighter V was not handled very well missing something here and there etc....Mega Man 11 must be done right! Finally I know Capcom won`t do this (everyone does really) but I would wish for DLC to actually turn into unlockables......even if just for commemoration of the Mega Man X series.
Wait, so it's actually... Mega Man. I mean... It really is. Wow.
2018 will be the year of Mega Man.....nobody has mentioned also the revival of the original Mega Man Manga, Mega Man Mastermix!
@RedMageLanakyn Hopefully they at least make Command Mission available separately as a PSN download or something.
@carlos82 That Dpad is Xbox 360 level of bad. Unacceptable.
@Mahe it's really not, I can honestly say it's the best one I've used for quite some time and the one on the Hori pad is great for Street fighter 2
@carlos82 Yeah Hori usually makes great pads. But the NS Pro... yeuch.
@Mahe well it's clear I won't convince you it's good and you can't convince me that it's not the best pad since the GameCube (though the dpad is better on the Pro). However the Hori pad has the 4 separate buttons with an attachable dpad on top, so it feels very much like the rolling dpad on the Megadrive so if anything I'm not short of options
@carlos82 "you can't convince me that it's not the best pad since the GameCube"
GameCube pad was terrible. It's not hard being better than that, but being better than that sorry excuse of a controller still doesn't make it good.
@Mahe well now your just talking nonsense
@carlos82 Nintendo has made some great controllers: Wiimote, SNES Pad, Wii Classic Controller Pro.
But they've also made some really bad ones: GameCube, Wii U Gamepad, NS controllers.
Unfortunately now it's the era of "bad controller Nintendo" again.
