After an extremely disappointing E3 2017 no-show, Shenmue III will be taking the trip to Gamescom 2017, where new footage of the anticipated PlayStation 4 sequel will debut. “While we are still working out the details with our partners, we plan to show our newest movie clips, share the latest updates, and even make some new announcements,” a spokesperson for developer Ys Net wrote in a Kickstarter update. Sony’s apparently still debating whether to hold a press conference in Cologne, but you can bet your bottom dollar that if it gives the green light you’ll be seeing the game during the platform holder’s show.
In other news, the title’s logo has also been updated: “Taking your comments into consideration, Yu Suzuki and the team gave the title logo another hard look and decided to update the logo.” To be honest, we hadn’t realised there was a huge problem with the old one, but this updated version is vastly superior, as you can see for yourself below:

Finally! HYPE!
I think Sony have kept enough back that a gamescom appearance would be a good idea; if only to claw back some good will which seems to have been eroding in recent months looking at some of the comments I have read online.

Well that's good, the logo now looks like a 2005 website instead of a 1998 website logo.

The recent E3 was a little underwhelming all across the board. Are we going to see the same at Gamescom? With so many conferences around the year is it feasible to think that all of them would be mind blowing?
I personally don't mind.

Spent 2 years working furiously on the game.
All they have to show for it is a slightly updated logo.
I'm surprised the logo wasn't that way to begin with, looking forward to the new footage.
If you have new things show them to the backers. It is the least you owe them. Just saying.
I beat the first one on Dreamcast many years ago. I remember buying gacha toys in the game and driving a forklift at the docks. I beat up a lot of thugs as well and learned martial arts moves.
I bought part 2 for Xbox but never played it... Even if there is no remaster, I'm sure they will include a CD or downloadable file to catch you up on the story.
