After months of waiting for a release date, we finally know when the Necromancer is heading to Diablo III. The aptly named Rise of the Necromancer Pack will include the brand new class along with a bunch of smaller add-ons which we've listed below.
- Non-combat pet
- A pair of cosmetic wings
- New Necromancer-themed Banner Shape, Sigil, and Accent
- Necromancer Portrait Frame
- Pennant
- Two additional character slots
As expected, though, the content won't be free. Blizzard has it tagged for $14.99 in the US, so we imagine that it'll go for around £10 here in the UK. Right off the bat, the pricing seems a little steep to us. It's essentially just a new playable character, after all.
Anyway, if you're interested, the pack will be available in just under a week on the 27th June.
What do you reckon? Is it too pricey, or are you willing to pay the toll for an army of undead? Rise from your graves in the comments section below.

Agee overpriced. Wait on this one
Nice that it's coming so soon but not too keen on the price. It's not insanely expensive but it's a little more than what I'd be comfortable paying. $9.99 would have done the trick in my opinion.
I love Diablo, but I will also wait for a price drop, after all I still have lots of games to finish, including a couple more that I want to start/buy.
$14.99 = £9.99 seems incredibly optimistic considering how many times we've been screwed over with a 1/1 exchange rate before.
I can't imagine paying more for this game after grinding the plat.... especially since the classes really end up playing so similarly.
Will this have a new trophies added to it?
For $14.99 it should come with it's own amiibo.
I'll be getting this on PC because it also comes with 2 additional stash tabs, but I'll skip it on PS4. Too pricey to double dip.
Nice. Been waiting for this for awhile now. I love how Blizzard keeps supporting their games years after release.
@Michaelkirk02 Not 100% sure. If it does have Trophies, they should be added to the PlayStation Network's Trophy database very soon. Might be best to keep an eye on your Diablo III Trophy list and see if any new DLC ones pop up.
$14.99 will probably be £11.99 on the uk store. seems a bit steep for a character and a few cosmetics.
It is hard to say what this will be worth without actually seeing it in the wild. I'm going to assume you are also paying for all the additional voice acting, including reworking the story for if you play through as a Necromancer. There will also be all the armour and weapons designed for the class as well. Given when it was announced this has been in development for about a year which seems normal for Blizzard who have built a reputation for polishing their games as much as possible. I'll wait and see what the community reaction is before damning the price on this one.
Poor offerings after such a long wait Blizzard - not impressed. Will get this coz I love Diablo but I hope they have been putting resources elsewhere within the Diablo franchise coz this is a bummer.
I actually thought this would be free, like a patch or something.
Blizzard is not one to drop prices. I love the fact I can now play my character I played in Diablo long ago. I will pay the $14.99 to do so. Its not just the necromancer they made but also his army of undead that fights at his side. I have not played Diablo 3 in long time this give me a reason to play again.
I think maybe the time would have been better spent making Diablo 4. That's something I would definitely buy on PS4.
@LieutenantFatman I doubt Diablo 4 will.happen anytime soon, it's not how Blizzard does business now.
Nice! I have been waiting for this forever. It is a bit pricey but I have been really wanting some new Diablo content.
@Tasuki I know, you're right. But I can dream. I expect PS5 will be out before that comes out.
Man ... I know it's only $5 difference but $9.99 would have been a no brainer for me. I just can't justify spending $15 more on a game that I have played to death, just to do it again with another class! Now throw in a dynamic theme and I might have considered it!
