Paladins, a team based shooter that's proven to be rather popular on PC, is now available on PlayStation 4 as an open beta. The game's free-to-play, so it may be worth a look if you have an Overwatch-esque itch that needs scratched.
Okay, we all knew the Overwatch comparison was coming, but it's a seriously difficult one to avoid. A similar cartoon-y art style, an emphasis on tactical team play, and a roster of playable heroes all bring the fight to Blizzard's blockbuster. It'll be interesting to see how the PlayStation Nation takes to it in any case.

Shouldn't compare it to Overwatch, you'll get some sad fan telling you about the nuisances of Overwatch and how they're not alike whatsoever.
Tbh, it feels like a cross between Smite and Overwatch but it doesn't feel as good as either of them.

I'll give it a twirl I have it downloaded, i'm very dubious though it look's so much like Overwatch but can you imagine how frustrating that game would be with wallet warrior's in it.
Played it for a few hours, but really....it's pretty meh imo.
Gameplay just isn't all that imo, and the heroes are kinda hard to tell apart while playing....
There's some free codes going on PlayStation Lifestyle for one of the heroes if anyone's interested.
Well, how long will this one last to be able to play. There's enough free games on the PS4 right now, and many I can't even play because it can't find anyone or the servers are already down. Guess I'll just stick to Gems Of War and a few others for the time being.

@AFCC Just go on PlayStation Lifestyle's website, look for the article about Paladin codes. All you have to do is click on the widget to receive the code. Providing they still have some.
Played both. Feels like poor man's Overwatch.
@Bliquid very good but not the point I was making, not that either one is good or bad or anything else on some ethereal numerical scale. Just and only their realised similarities in gameplay/design etc etc
That elf thing and it's suit look suspiciously similar to Howitzer from another free-to-play game, Paragon.
What I don't get is, if it's a Beta how come it has trophies?
