It's all too easy to poke fun at Street Fighter V, but a great fighting game still exists at its core. If you've never given the title a chance but you'd like to put your skills to the test, then you may want to check out the Capcom Fighters Network beta that'll soon be available on PlayStation 4.
As its name suggests, this is a beta - but it's free to download and play as long as you have a PlayStation Plus subscription. It'll give you access to all of the game's playable characters - including the newly announced Ed - and you'll obviously be able to sample the title's fantastic gameplay for yourself. Again, worth a shot if you're even the least bit interested in Capcom's beat-'em-up.
The beta goes live later today in North America at 18:00 PST, and it'll last until Sunday evening. Meanwhile, Europe can get in on the action at 02:00 tomorrow.
Will you be playing some Street Fighter V this weekend? Bring out your best reads in the comments section below.

Too little too late, Capcom. Bring on Tekken 7.
Get lost Capcom we got 2 fingers and 2 words for you.
TEKKEN 7
Nope. Just going to pick up Injustice 2 and enjoy some single player goodness.
Probably depends on size, don't like to download 30+ GB for a weekend but that seems to be the size these days.
30 isn't a hard and fast number, but it's a guideline. I'll download a 60GB game to buy and keep, but again, not for 48 hours as it takes a few hours for me to download and install a game that size.
I love sfv. Even with its issues which i think are mostly blown out of proportion. Though i wish i liked tekken and all those other fighters but their weird clunky movements and attacks just turn me right off. Always have. Fun to mess around with but nothing else. Just my opinion.
Cool!
will play to test the improved Ryu and Ed!
Sorry Capcom your ship has sailed there is a new King of Fighters now and it's name is Tekken 7.
I've set it to download, hopefully get a few games in over the weekend. I've not played a street fighter games since the megadrive era. The only fighting game I'll pick up full price is soul calibre, which I dream will get a remake some day in all its fluid glory.
@Tasuki At least till MVC Infinite is out
@adf86 Nope for me at least it will still be Tekken. I never really enjoyed the MvC series.
@Tasuki actually, the new King of Fighters is called King of Fighters 14. Sorry, I couldn't resist on making such a stupid joke lol. But I am looking forward to Tekken 7. I will be switching back and forth with KOF, Tekken 7, and Street Fighter V. I'll probably skip Injustice 2 though.
You can keep it Capcom.
