Fresh off January's news that Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will be released on 11th July, publisher Square Enix has today detailed the various editions that are available for pre-order. Hold onto your DualShock 4s everybody - here we go.
Collector's Edition
First up is the Collector's Edition, which is now available for pre-order in limited quantities exclusively on the Square Enix store, and is currently priced at a whopping £184.99 here in the UK. What do you get with this decidedly not-overpriced title, we hear you ask? You get the following:
- "Judge Magisters" Mini Bust Set: Featuring busts of Judges Bergan, Drace, Gabranth, Ghis, and Zargabaath available exclusively to the Collector's Edition and not sold separately
- Selection of soundtrack music from famed composer Hitoshi Sakimoto
- Steelbook featuring exclusive art to the Collector's Edition
- Set of Six Art Cards: Featuring Vaan, Ashe, Basch, Fran & Balthier, Penelo and World of Ivalice
- Background Music DLC: allowing fans to listen to the high-quality FINAL FANTASY XII original soundtrack in-game
Limited Edition
Don't want to pay that much but still want something a little special? Well, there will also be a Limited Edition available, although details of where this will be sold have yet to be disclosed. This edition includes a copy of the game, an exclusive steelbook featuring artwork by renowned illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, and a Background Music DLC pack.
Digital Edition
For those digital-only patrons out there, pre-ordering the game from the PlayStation Store will grab you a static theme for your PS4 and four music tracks by composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, which will be unlocked upon the game's release in July.
And, finally, Square Enix has also announced that Final Fantasy XII's Balthier will be available as a downloadable champion summon in the immensely cute World of Final Fantasy on the 23rd March.
Phew, that's a lot of information, but have any of these edition caught your eye? Care to splash the cash in the comments section below?

It's a nice collector's edition, but the price is a little too high and the mini busts might be a little too mini.
I liked the World of Final Fantasy and Nier Automata collector's editions, and I'm happy I bought them, but the figures/statues that were included in each were kind of smaller than I expected.
I still plan on getting the standard copy of the game from Amazon in July so I can finally experience this game.
Decidedly not-overpriced by a factor of 10. This is a remastered PS2 game so I'm planning to pick it up eventually, but hopefully at around £29.99 later on. And I'm a Final Fantasy FAN.
Having said that there are avid collectors/fans out there who would probably buy a collector's edition but I think even some of them would balk at the price.
If I can find it I'll be getting the Steelbook version.Collectors editions nice but no way would I spend that much on a game.
Looking forward to playing this again..although the fact I never finished it and can't remember why has me worried..
I've pre-ordered just the game in an ordinary case with no fancy tat for £35.75.
Don't really think this CE has any value to me. I'd probably like the steelbook, but I'll likely just get the game.
@ApostateMage @FantasyMeister Standard edition is priced just £28.85 on Base.com at the moment. Also under £30 on Tesco Direct
Ill go for the limited edition most likely. This is one of those games that bugs me from time to time because I spent so much time on it but have yet to finish it.
I want the standard edition but will most likely wait a while. So much to play on PS4 these days, it's hard to prioritise.
Yeah... I have some Nintendo and PS Vita LEs, but the stuff was crowding my living space, so I put them in the closet. What a waste. Just the games for me from now on.
"Ya'll better buy this if you want FF7 and KH3 to be funded!"
Yikes, could buy 4 new games for that price.
Uhhhh I grabbed the collectors edition. Hate that price tag so much lol
Just the game... Maybe the steelbook because it looks very nice. LE is bonkers! Most of them are clutter anyway
Special editions are a laughable waste of money.
Bizarre choice for the busts. Surely the heroes of the game would have been more appealing. Plus the fact the figures aren't much to look at.
Overpriced is putting it mildly
