In the UK, we have an expression called "sod's law", which basically means that when you say something, the opposite is almost certain to occur. So as we uploaded a video complaining about Sony's treatment of PlayStation VR today, it was pretty inevitable that the platform holder would make some sort of meaningful announcement immediately afterwards. And that's exactly what it has done: the YouTube app on the PlayStation 4 now supports 360-degree videos in conjunction with the virtual reality headset.
This means that you can finally enjoy those ASMR videos by Cosmic Tingles the way that they were damn well intended. There's also obviously a lot more content on YouTube for you to take advantage of; you can find a list of curated 360-degree content through here. BuzzFeed, here we come!

Finally!
I've had this for several weeks...I'm confused
@sajoey Wait, what? It was already patched in? PlayStation Blog says it was added today.
Now you can really feel like your there watching your cat videos.
@get2sammyb @sajoey Some users have had it for weeks, though I haven't seen a common consensus as to why those "chosen" were selected. Some said it might be Pro users but I have a Pro and didn't get it.
I'm assuming Google wanted to beta test it before the big rollout, which happened today.
@glassmusic Ah-hah! Thanks for cleaning it up.
I did get a patch for YouTube a few weeks back that said Pro support but since I don't have PSVR I don't know if it had anything to do with this.
it should have google maps, google earth on PSVR. that would be incredible.
Excellente - I am a big ASMR fan so this is awesome news. I bought a relative a cheap £14.99 Cardboard VR rip off for chrimbo and there was some great 360 content out there on Youtube. I will download and update tonight.
Ooo, this sounds interesting! A quick look on the playlist shows some potentially fascinating videos. To be honest, this is one of the things that excites me a lot - VR experiences that let you immerse yourself in a world you could otherwise not experience e.g. the Expedition to the Heart of an Active Volcano looks like it might be awesome.
Not happy with them using triangle as a voice search button, was pretty used to it being the space button. Which they've now gotten rid of 😐
