In case you missed it, Mass Effect: Andromeda got its first proper gameplay trailer at The Game Awards last night. Showcasing combat, exploration, and dialogue, it's just what the doctor ordered when it comes to BioWare's latest sci-fi adventure, finally giving us a real glimpse of how the game plays.

However, the video hasn't been able to avoid criticism entirely. While fans seem to be generally very happy with how the project looks, many, including ourselves, have been quick to point out the typical BioWare jank. Specifically, the facial animations of the default female Ryder look undeniably rough - when she gets angry, you'd fear her face rather than her wrath.

Always hot off the mark over on Twitter, BioWare employees have been responding to complaints regarding said animations. The general gist of it is that until Andromeda ships early next year, the developer is going to be constantly polishing things up. In other words, the dodgy facial animations and lip syncing in the trailer aren't necessarily final. Here's hoping that's the case, eh?

What did you think of Andromeda's gameplay reveal? Do you have concerns, or does it look dandy? Jet off for the stars in the comments section below.
