We have such fond memories of Final Fantasy XII back on the PlayStation 2 - and we're sure that we're not the only ones. In case you haven't heard, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is an enhanced remaster of the epic last-last-gen adventure, and it's due out on PlayStation 4 in 2017.
The re-release has nabbed a new trailer at Tokyo Game Show 2016, and we're not afraid to admit that the footage forced the nostalgia to come flooding back. Simply put, we can't wait to get stuck into this one all over again - even if we still think that Vaan's a bit of a dweeb.
Are you looking forward to The Zodiac Age? Prepare your gambits in the comments section below.

Nice trailer. Still don't remember much about the main story except bunny girl and the maze forest filled w/ Marbloros, but the 100 hundreds of monster bounty hunting was really fun.
Does Squenix have a timeline somewhere for all of it's major games? Between all of the FF and DQ games I'd like to see how they have it planned out. And KH3 of course.
Supposedly the Zodiac version had a fast-forward function of some sort, that is going to be the clincher on whether or not I will be getting this, the game tends to be a bit too slow paced for my liking regularly.
My favorite Final Fantasy, along with VI!
I'm very happy with this remaster!
Ahh down in the Sewers played hours and hours never finished it .
This is the only final fantasy game that I forget nearly everything about it, there's vaan, a bunny girl, I hate the battle system, and that's it. To me it's a disappointment after the great story of final fantasy x.
This one was a bit meh to me. For the icing on the cake, someone broke into my house and stole not the game, but the ps2 and memory card, which was far worse (that was back in 2008ish) I tried to play through it again to see the end but just couldn't.
Never finished this one but spent hours on the bounty hunts! And a bunny girl is always a good thing...
It will be the 3rd time round for me, it really needs some fast levelling and more variety in the background textures or it will look very dated.
So glad I'm gonna have Final Fantasy VII, X, XII and XV (and World of Final Fantasy) all updated and modern on PS4.
That combined with FF 1-9, X and X-2, all 3 Dissidea releases on PSP and Tactics War of the Lions on Vita, and I'm in good shape.
I really enjoyed the gambit system, I think it's the best combat system in the whole series. Oh and Fran's voice is just plain sexy.
Not a huge fan of Vaan's character design but I really enjoyed the game and it was the first FF game that I bought.
@WanderingBullet Yeah, I'm not a fan of Vaan either, but he wasn't really the main character of XII. I feel like, unlike the FF games that preceded it, XII was much more about the whole party and the overarching political narrative than it was about a single protagonist. Also, characters like Balthier, Fran and Basch make up for it! In terms of gameplay and battle systems, XII is my favourite FF game hands down.
@Jake3103
Agreed on the supporting cast, gameplay and battle system. I really like both FFXII and FFXIV, with XIV being my favorite .
