Dark Souls III's first DLC is called Ashes of Ariandel, the official PlayStation Twitter account has somehow managed to leak. The logo was grabbed by Shacknews before being removed, with additional details appearing in the latest issue of Famitsu, as translated by Japanese blog Hachima. So far we know that the add-on will contain new weapons, magic, and a PvP-exclusive map called Immortal Competition.
There's an image of a snowy location in the magazine article, but there's some confusion over whether this is a new single player location, or the aforementioned competitive arena. We do know, however, that the new weapons include a great sword with a colourless flame, as well as a spell which essentially emits a boomerang made of light. More information is expected later this week, but the DLC is locked for a 25th October launch.

Pretty disappointed that it is only an add-on and not an expansion like Artorias or The Old Hunters.
October cant come quick enough for me
Loved The Old Hunters expansion but then I did love Bloodborne. Will wait on a review assuming there is enough content for there to be one.
I have nothing to add but my pool of salivation.
Hmm, seems Galvatron is the only one to see Demons' Souls as the first and truly great From Software release, with exception to a sequel which is warranted and improves the formula in every respect - Demons' Souls II.
Bloodborne is especially puzzling in its universal acclaim; Dark Souls is very good, but it seems to be the same general game just a new wrap-around evil realm.....
...so errr no to me buying the DLC then 😊
