After months and months of adding a '5' to the end of Star Ocean, we've only just realised that the Western release isn't numbered - it's just called Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. Whoops. Anyway, this launch trailer is likely your last chance to spy new gameplay before the role-playing game hits store shelves in just over a week.
As is customary with launch trailers, we get a brief overview of what the sci-fi adventure will entail, all while characters bang on about protecting things. Yep, it's your standard anime-style guff - let's just hope that the actual plot's a little more endearing.

love the star ocean games, looking forward to this one
See I really want it but it's deffinetly the kind of game my misses will judge me harshly on lol. Might go for it anyway..
@kyleforrester87 go for it
I am going to go with Tokyo Mirage Sessions because I don't think I can't handle both of these in a short span without some western stuff between them...
Looking forward to this. Just hope I see an end to Xenoblade Chronicles X one day. The game is loooong but great. Lots to do~...........
@Feena Think I will..does look kinda tasty. I'll just have to endure the inevitable corny dialogue and the raised eyebrows that come with it
This looks like a pass. Maybe 14 year old me would have been into this, but now? I expect the standard rpg tropes and horrendous voice acting, ughh
@Majic12 Well then play in Japanese. Like a non-14 year old would. You have the choice. jk You don't have to like it but it doesn't look that generic to me. And the English voices could be a loooot worst.
@Feena Fair enuff' Personally if I get some classic retro games or indies in between I'm fine. That's enough changing up for me. Western games can be even more or a challenge keeping me focused as often I just don't care about the brown haired bearded main characters. Just as bad as the spiky hair teenage male trope if you ask me. Gameplay is important but is there's a story I rather spend the time with weird characters rather than someone I could see looking out the window. No "every man" main characters for me.
Just can't seem to get excited for this one. I'll be picking up I Am Setsuna next month anyway.
@Riririn yes absolutely, I do find myself craving a good Japanese title if I have been playing western stuff a lot, like last year with Inquisition and the Witcher 3 (and the Inquisitor and Geralt were not your average low key dads) ...but these two games are really hitting the same vibes (very colourful, probably a bit trope-y). I wouldn't say the same if they were, I dunno, Final Fantasy XV and Persona 5, that have a very different feel.
This is so sweet jrpgs are such a delight to enjoy. Star ocean games are some of the best jrpg i have played .
Looking much more forward to I am Setsuna, but I will get this as well.
Just wish SE would lose the plastic faces for this series....no emotion whatsoever, and that Always ruins a bit of the feel for the story for me.
But I am hungry for a new JRPG fix, and while I didn't love SO4 (didn't hate it either) I liked it enough to look forward to this new entry.
