Ancient MMO Neverwinter is trekking to the PlayStation 4 this summer, Perfect World has announced. The free-to-play foray is based upon the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, and will launch alongside all nine of its expansion packs. That equates to hundreds of hours of content – and you won't even need a PlayStation Plus subscription to tuck in.
"Fight against the likes of Tiamat, Demogorgon, Orcus, Valindra, and many more sinister enemies from Dungeons & Dragons lore," communications manager Alex Monney wrote on the PlayStation Blog. "Adventurers will also travel through iconic locations such as Icewind Dale and the Underdark while teaming up with characters straight from the novels of acclaimed author R.A. Salvatore, including Drizzt Do'Urden." That all went over our head, we must admit.

My being is ready. I love Neverwinter, and I'm stoked to be able to play it on my PS4. Will always be more of a couch gamer than a desk gamer.
I've never played an MMO, but am curious to try one. Just have one question - will they ask for a credit card number? I've downloaded a couple of "free" games in the past only to have them ask for a cc# as part of their set-up. I immediately uninstalled the games. If they're free, they don't need this info up front - ask for it if I decide to pay for content.
Between ESO and FFXIV, I might be able to squeeze this in too.
@Jbumi I'd be very surprised if they did that - especially seeing as this is on console.
@Neolit @get2sammyb It did happen on PS4 when I downloaded Warframe. Soon as it asked, I uninstalled it & never went back. It's what prompted me to ask about Neverwinter.
@Jbumi How odd, I've never had that come up while playing Warframe on the PS4 OR PC.
Awesome!!! This was one of the games I was jealous at Xbox One owners for having, and it almost got me to buy an Xbox One several times. I will definitely be looking into this one.
Was this on Xbox One first, if I remember correctly? Stoked to finally be able to play, if that's the case. I've heard good things.

@Neolit Honestly not interested in PS4.568329846 or whatever they want to call it, I am quite happy with my current PS4. Also alot of my friends play on Xbox One and I am interested in games like Ori and The Blind Forest and Raiden V. So yeah I would sooner get an Xbox One then another PS4.
@Tasuki For me it's the otherway I don't know anyone with a Xbox and I will buy the PS4,5. I will just sell the PS4 or give it to my little brother.
Might have a go. Have got quite a few of these types of games already though. Have just started a rather late run at DA: Inquisition (not online I know) and have spent stupid amounts of hours on ESO. Hmm?
@Flaming_Kaiser Yeah I got the PS4 at.launch for various reasons and all my friends were saving up for one. Then they all got Xbox Ones for Christmas one year from family members who figured well since you have a 360 an Xbox One will be good for a Christmas gift, so I cant blame them. However it doesn't give me alot of people to play with online now.

played this on PC when it first came out. Left and never returned once I reached top level on it. Do you reckon my character will still be there when it comes to PS4? I hope so as I've played the early content and reckon I'd only give this another whirl if I can delve in and continue where I left off playing only the newly added content. Don't reckon I'd be that lucky tho lol
@Jbumi I dunno what you saw but this didn't happen. I've played Warframe on PS4 for around 40 hours and never seen this. There is no monthly fee in the game and all microtransactions are done through the PSN store so there is literally nowhere in the game you can put in card details.
Was looking forward to this. Wasn't sure if it was still coming or not, long overdue. Hopefully this game will be fun solo as well as grouped. That is what I liked about ESO. I do love forgotten realms lore. Should be a great world to play in.
