Remember when everyone begged Sony to release the PlayStation TV overseas? It turns out that none of you bought it, because it's currently being flogged at US retailer Best Buy for $19.99. The device – which allows you to play select Vita games on the big screen – originally deployed last October, but with various catch-up services missing, we're not entirely sure why the platform holder bothered.
We thought that the unit was well made, but felt that it lacked far too many features to be worth recommending. Still, if you're looking for a system to play Persona 4 Golden on, then this will do the job adequately – and with Atlus' highly acclaimed role-playing game on sale in North America right now, you could be making friends with Yosuke and Chie for a hugely discounted fee.

All they would need to do is add Netflix and I would have bought this at a higher price. This is one of those instances where you could go $5 and I probably still wouldn't buy it without Netflix.
It really is like Sony just did not bother (and still does not). I'm surprised why they did not just throw these devices away. They knew that it will not sell without media streaming apps and I doubt that they are making any money on selling this device.
I almost bought it at release with full price but it was clearly visible from day1 that the missing media apps will never be released for psTV making this a pointless thingy. Are they even still producing new units?
I've owned one for a while now (since they dropped to half price) and for streaming the PS4 to a second TV it is outstanding. As the others have already said, if it included media streaming it really would be an essential piece of kit.
Shame. I think PS TV would be a good choice for a kid's first PS system or just in general a cheap way into the PS ecosystem.
@maamets I like it and i got a load of RPG's i can play on my bigscreen so im content.

Total waste of money, it barely plays any worthwhile Vita games and if like me you're not online it's almost useless.
@jonnus stream ps4 on a different tv you say!!!??? is there any latency? any degradation of any kind? id think this alone would make it somewhat popular.
My buddy uses it to stream his ps4 from the living room to his bedroom when his wife wants to watch a movie or something on the big screen in the living room. He is always telling me how good it streams his ps4 to another tv, so must work alright I assume.
@Gmork___ I have one in my bedroom and got it for the sole purpose of remote play and it works out great. I don't experience any lag at all, at least none that I notice.
Vita remote play has lag and so does this. And that's on 60mbps bandwidth. I watched my brother stream and it was no better than Vita remote play (which makes sense, it's basically a Vita in that regard).
Unless you're playing turn based games, it's not even worth bothering. Not only that, but if you want to remote play elsewhere over another wireless network you have to open ports on your wireless network for it to get through. Such a pain.
I asked my brother who owns one if he thought l should buy one for $20, and he said "Save your money".
Streaming PS4 works well for me, but a wired connection is a must. $20 is a steal now even if it's just to experiment with a new toy and try your vita games on the big tv, but if you plug it into a wired connection then you get your ps4 games on new tv too. Great deal.
@JaxonH "Save your money"
Coming from you, after spending $600 on 1 Nintendo Direct, that's not a ringing endorsement at all.
Was your brother on wireless? My living room and bedroom PS3s are both wired. I'll likely only buy 1 PS4 for the living room. Thought this would work for a little streaming when need be. Even I can do $20.
BTW everybody - I checked the link and it's not avaible for shipping and the nearest 1 is 100 miles away, and I have several stores much closer than that. I wonder if Target would match? Or Amazon?
$33 on Amazon, but all the reviews there are as bad as here.

Need this!!! THATS £13 WHOLE POUNDS IN THE UK!!!
Even if this could only play P4G you should buy it! Come on, $20, for that kinda money you'd be a fool not to buy one. I use it for remote play all the time and it works just fine. Don't expect to play fighting games or FPSs on it without any lag, but use it for games like AC, Batman, Diablo or even Bloodborne if your up for a little extra challenge
Sony should have done way more with this and not just bring it on the market to die. My criticism about these practices is usually met with hostility, but as an early adopter of both the Vita and PS TV I sometimes feel screwed over, especially when the PS TV is sold for $20 atm. But being this cheap when I paid $100 isn't the worst, what pisses me of is to see all this wasted potential; this thing could've been the perfect companion for your PS4 and nobody would've wanted a Chromecast or AppleTV if this thing had Netflix on it. It's gorgeous to look at but the streaming should've been better for people who have wired connections like I do... I still can't understand why they won't allow fullHD for people who have the option to steam it in 1080p.
But no matter the flaws, for $20 you should own one.
This thing has been sold out since yesterday afternoon
Remote Play works well for it for most things. I noticed Destiny struggled on a couple of occasions, especially if I was playing in a fireteam with others, but it was still playable. For most other game genres it's great, but as others have said, you should really wire it, using Powerlines if you need to.
$20 is a steal for this as a streaming PS4 device (I bought nigh on full price). I do wish it had Netflix, but that's mainly what I bought it for.
Initially I was excited about the PlayStation TV. As more news came out about it, however, the less appealing it became. Looking at sales, others obviously felt the same way. You halfa$$ a product and don't advertise it, it's likely not going to do so well.
Don't forget about needing an extra $85 for a proprietary memory card that's only 64gb! What a steal! No Netflix still, too?? I'm sold.
@rjejr
The kids love their brothers PS-TV. If there was one within 100 miles for $20, I'd be heading to pick it up.
@charlesnarles
Streaming, you are able to use a 4GB Memory Card. If you wish to d/l games 32GB, 16GB tend to circle around a $1 per GB but the 4GB is about $12.
Nobody did. We wanted Vita TV and we didn't get it.
