Out of this world

LEGO Dimensions is the fastest selling toys-to-life title to release this year, comfortably overcoming the launch numbers for Skylanders Superchargers and Disney Infinity 3.0. In fact, the new kid on the block has enjoyed the third best UK opening in the genre as a whole, which must have publisher Warner Bros – already enjoying an incredible year, remember – rubbing its hands.

Of course, the title couldn't topple FIFA 16, which remained glued to the top as you may expect. NBA 2K16 entered in third, pushing Destiny: The Taken King down into fourth. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain slipped all the way down into seventh, with Grand Theft Auto V and Mad Max rounding out the top ten.

There was one other new release: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 scuffed its knee and limped into 12th on the back of bad reviews. Hopefully its price will plummet quicker than the extreme sports fad, as this author is eager to pick it up on the cheap.
