The so-called Black Box missions were one of the few redeeming features of Assassin's Creed Unity. These multifaceted hits presented you with multiple methods to annihilate your enemies, and they're making a return in Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the latest entry in Ubisoft's sandbox stealth series. This new gameplay from Gamescom 2015 shows exactly how they work.
In it, we see protagonist Evie Frye using her "iconic rope launcher" – Ubisoft's words, not ours – to infiltrate the Tower of London. From there, she's able to select one of several ways to reach her target, and eventually ends up working alongside an impostor guard and gaining entry by "giving herself up" to the sham security. This is not the only method by any means, though.
The problem is, while the mission design looks good, we're a bit concerned by some of the mechanics. The French publisher appears to have cheated its level design by augmenting Evie with the ability to – wait for it – turn invisible in plain sight, which breaks the fiction a bit for us. The artificial intelligence doesn't look especially smart either if we're honest.
That said, we do really like the setting, so we're torn. All we know is that with fellow infiltration escapade Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain due out this year, Ubisoft's not going to get a free pass.

That cloak is ridiculous. Unless its an artifact, I'll be convinced Ubisoft aren't taking this seriously any more
Ubisoft is killing this franchise. I swore it off after Unity, and I had hopes for this one, but it sounds absolutely ridiculous. I'm done for good, it seems.
Wait... What? A invisibility cloak? Seriously ubisoft I used to like your games esp assassins creed but you are slowly killing them...
They do this with every franchise - They run them into the ground. I dont care much for the series anymore but its a complete hatchet job, they should give the series a rest.
Let's be honest - Assassin's Creed games have never been good stealth titles. Hell, it was only in Unity that the series finally got a crouching protagonist. The original Metal Gear Solid is a better pure stealth game than any releases in Ubisoft's series to date, which says it all.
I probably wont play another AC anymore. But I will probably watch a let's play for this. shrugs
Lol! Everyone complains the games are getting stale and innovation is needed. Ubisoft innovates and people claim they've jumped the shark. Damned if you do....
I played Unity again after the most recent patch. It's a very good game. Yeah - the story isn't as strong as older entries, and there are way too many collectibles. But, getting rid of the companion app stuff and squashing most of the bugs - it's a very good game.
@NorrinRadd
People want similar gameplay with franchises sales figures show this alone, look at COD similar gameplay year in & out. I don't see a problem with the invisible cloak depending on how it's used, it's not like AC was based in reality anyway.
