Jump onto your PlayStation 4 right now, and there'll be a 3.5GB update available for Final Fantasy XV's playable demo, Episode Duscae. We know, it is a bit weird that a demo's got a patch, but it promises to be well worth the hard drive space if you're a fan of Noctis and the gang.
So, what does the update actually bring to the table? For starters, you can now fight the big monsters that wander around in the lake. Apparently, they're incredibly powerful - even more powerful than the behemoth - and they can knock out one of your party members in a single hit, even if you've managed to grind the gang's levels all the way to 99. Speaking of battles, Noctis can now warp to safe safe spots during combat, and you'll finally be able to dodge roll while fighting, which should be a big improvement. There are also fresh team attacks to try out, too.
Moving away from combat, the patch implements numerous new social events between differing party members, along with new side quests that involve Noctis and just one other buddy - the bromance is strong in this one.
For what it's worth, we'll have updated impressions of Episode Duscae once we've explored the new update for ourselves, but in the meantime, feel free to tell us how you're finding it in the comments section below.

Can't wait to get home and start playing this - I bought a new copy of FF Type-0 on the cheap recently and kept the demo untouched deliberately, knowing that this was coming.
o0ooo gunna give this a go. Hopefully a big improvement, I want to clear this!
3.5GB patch for a demo
What a strange world we live in.
Just how big was the demo anyway?
I'll get it downloaded later. I mean you can just delete the demo when the full game is out...
I'll definitely give it another shot eventually, but there's so much for me to play right now.
Hmmm just had a quick go, does seem a bit smoother and Noctus seems to control better. But I dunno, everything seems a bit sparse and lifeless now compared to The Witcher.
OMG I CANT WAIT! "Reads the article" 3.5GB Update??? Well... there goes my internet usage the rest of the way lol
@kyleforrester87 Why compare the two? Because they are both "RPGs"?
@Riririn Welllll since you asked Because they are both open world RPG's running on engines that are supposedly setting a new standard, played out in lush environments featuring third person real time combat released in a similar space of time each with a significant amount of hype. I think that's enough to justify face value comparisons, which is what mine was, having played the FF15 demo again briefly, post patch, off the back of TW3. Just felt a little..empty and sparse. Hope that explains my POV
Not interested, the initial demo was absolutely atrocious.
@kyleforrester87 I get that, but I still think they are trying to do different things overall. And there's no knowing exactly when FF15 will be out for all we know it could come out next year and stuff can change a lot again. Not the core gameplay but small differences that could impact a lot.
Then there's the story and characters. We don't know everything about that yet but whatever it will be it's probably meant to be very different from The Witcher in every way and it's will be a matter of taste what a person will prefer. These are the things that will set the feel of the game I think even tho you'll spend more time killing random things. lol
I've played the demo all evening, not really progressed the main quest much, just explored (can't wait for Ramuh, though). I love it and think it's great, really love where they are going with this. Music is fantastic and I'm getting enough FF vibe from all of this, which is a big relief. Obviously battles are the biggest change but they managed to make it complex to make it interesting and yet simple enough to be enjoyable and effective. Can't wait for the actual game, even though it's probably a long time coming still...
@Riririn oh, no doubt. I think it'll be great for its own reasons. Just my initial impression playing again after putting so many hours into TW3. Hoping for the best with FF15!
@kyleforrester87 I do too. I mean I've been waiting 8 years for it. It has probably changed 10+ times already but at least now we have an idea of what's it gonna be like in the end.
Playing tho tonight cant wait just finished downloading finally yay me
@rjejr to be fair the game was more a prologue and demo designed to show you the game play and world but being a seperate story from the main game, kind of like MGSV Ground Zeroes except this time you didn't have to pay £20 for it
@FullbringIchigo - It's not about being fair, I was just wondering if the full game would be 200GB and come on 4 discs like all my PS1 JRPGS? I wouldn't buy a game on PS1 unless it came on multiple discs.
