Few would disagree that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the best looking game at E3 2015, and that means that it's not going to hit its original 60 frames-per-second target. Speaking on a GameSpot livestream earlier in the week, lead game designer Kurt Margenau revealed that the studio's now targeting 30 frames-per-second for the single player mode, and 60 frames-per-second for the multiplayer.
This is obviously a bit of a bummer, especially after The Last of Us Remastered, which felt like a different game at 60 frames-per-second. However, considering the sheer amount of eye-candy that the studio's pushing, it's not all that surprising. As long as the controls feel tight and responsive, then this won't be too much of a concern – and with Bruce Straley leading the gameplay team, we doubt that we have much to worry about in that department.

Didn't ND say that they were gonna show the multiplayer aspect of the game during E3?
@WanderingBullet I certainly thought they would, so it's a surprise they haven't.
Uncharted isn't about the graphics though, even if they are always gorgeous and pushing the envelope, it's about the story and interaction between characters, which is why U2 will go down in history as something - not sure if it's greatest video game or interactive movie - but the graphics are only a part of the whole package. The dialog during that car drive is what makes it uncharted, not the graphics.
@rjejr That's fair, agreed.
Specs are a game of compromise. I trust ND to make the right decisions.
@get2sammyb Yeah, the single player demo was so good I totally forgotten about the multiplayer demo. lol
I certainly don't think 30fps is unacceptable and certainly didn't affect my enjoyment of the previous 3 games. I found the combat and game-play great in those so I don't think this will be affected. Just look at the E3 demo to see how much attention to detail and physics that's gone into this game. From the minute the cut scene ends and the you take control in the busy market place, through the ensuing gun fight with things flying everywhere, sand bags leaking sand and reacting to bullet impact, tiles and corrugated iron being smashed by bullets - then in the car chase we see a clothes line being dragged behind after going through it, destruction of the environment and bits bouncing off everywhere, the way the mud, water etc sprays off the wheels - it was incredible! I bet this demo was running at 30fps and nobody criticised the way it looked... Probably the best looking game at E3 and that included the brief look at Batman and Staw Wars: BF that used actual 'props' from the film for accurracy...
Sounds good to me. I just want to know if mp will be online only or include splitscreen.
@sinalefa Have any of the games included split-screen?
I don't care what FPS/BPM/BBC/ITV/MFI/FBI it is i just want to play/own it NOW
Makes sense to me. The first 3 games still performed well, and having a good multiplayer framerate is actually kinda smart. I dunno if that'll do anything against lag though.
It's a stable framerate that's important, not the max it can reach, so as long as it stays at 30fps the whole time, that's just fine. Wavering between 30-45 or whatever would look a lot worse than just sticking at 30 the whole time.
@get2sammyb
Yes, Uncharted 3 did.
I wish they just gave us the option, not just uncharted, but most games, like if you could choose from the options a lower graphics fidelity/resolution with a higher framerate, or the other way around, so everyone could choose and pick what they prefer.
Good choice to do MP 60fps & the single player 30fps, & it should be a locked 30fps.
@rjejr Same here, I've never noticed the difference between 30 or 60 fps games.
As long as I can enjoy the game and there's no obvious graphics glitches, I don't care.
"Elena Fisher, last year's model."
It's quips like this why I love Uncharted.
A year ago this would've bothered me but I've accepted the PS4 and X1 are just weaker pieces of hardware really for this time. Of course the game will still look great - that demo to close out Sony's presser was insanely impressive - and I'll take a solid 30 frames per second over constant significant drops. All in all, disappointing but not a deal breaker. I won't play the multiplayer much, if at all, but it will be interesting to see if they can hit 60 fps on that.
yep 30fps was expected,if they went for single player 60 fps the overall leap in graphics from Ps3 would be nowhere the same,cant wait for this
