Thumbs up

Call of Duty is still very much a commercial juggernaut, as Advanced Warfare has outsold the combined first week numbers of Titanfall, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and, amazingly, Destiny in the UK. This data is according to Chart-Track, which also stated that sales of Sledgehammer’s first-person shooter were stronger than those of Call of Duty: Ghosts in its first week – although, the next-gen versions weren’t initially available at launch last year.

Unsurprisingly, given its install base advantage, the PlayStation 4 version of the game sold best, taking 35 per cent of the total units. VideoGamer.com reports that the Xbox One edition accounted for 32 per cent of the sales, despite Microsoft offering an official bundle and securing co-marketing support. Sadly for Sony, the PlayStation 3 release proved the least popular console outing, accounting for just 11 per cent of the total sales.
