Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is like the little engine that could. While we were certainly excited for the title, its extremely positive reviews have sealed it as one of the must-have games in the already packed month of October. And in order to remind everyone of its existence, developer Monolith Productions has released a nifty new launch trailer.
While there's no actual gameplay here, the short clip does give us a nice look at some of the malicious malefactors that we'll be tracking down in the main game. It also provides some predictably gruesome gore to ogle while listening to its painfully inappropriate music. We don't remember Frodo ever mentioning his love for industrial techno.
Will you be picking up Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, or would you say that you're not Tol-keen? Go there and back again in the comments section below.

Dat headline.
I'd like to give the game a shot but I blew my gaming budget on Destiny...but I'll pick up Shadow of Mordor at a later date.
Game is super good. Only advice dont be too proud to run away in the early stages of the game when surround by a lot of guys plus a captain. It can get you killed lol. Its a lot more challenging than being surrounded in assassins creed
@LDXD no but i had norsko the bow captain and an elite captain try to beat me down with 7 other lackies around. The bow captains are a huge pain to fight in groups.
Im breaking the hobbit tonight! Hashtaglinkinpark
Adding this to my basket as I type. My most anticipated game since I watched the first trailer!
This game is sooooo good, which came as a total surprise to me. Both the AC and Batman franchises are games of which I understand people appreciate them, but I never got past the 4 hour mark because it bored me. This games takes what both games do best, improves on it and make it exciting enough to play for hours and hours. It's great fun to do the story missions, but just messing about exploring and killing is equally great! Normally I'd say a 8,5/10, but it 'feels' more like a 9,5/10 because there was no hype it couldn't live up to. There are still some surprises left in this industry, SoM is definitely one of them.
@Boerewors I totally agree. There was no hype. Just the videos they released. Those alone got me hyped, and I'm loving every minute of it. My only gripe was the level of sensitivity of the camera and aim. As sensitive as it was from the beginning I would have thought it was on full blast but it wasn't. I had to turn it all the way down. One of my other friends had this problem but no reviews mention this. Strange. Actually, there was one other thing while I'm am at it. I wish Intel was region locked. I don't care for how you get to pick who you want to get intel on. I shouldn't be able to get Intel for a captain that's on the other side of the map; just saying this would be more realistic, that's all.
I'm picking this game up on Monday. I just don't know when I'm gona have time to play it. I'm so in to Destiny right now.
@LDXD The spear guys could also be quite sneaky since they deal tons of damage and can get you in the back. My Nemesis Skuld The Taskmaster killed me while I was low level and kept getting stronger. One time I went after him he managed to escape and then I exploded him with a barrel. He then returned from the dead all burned up and cover is scars. After an epic battle I turned his head into my new coffee mug just to be certain. Love that Nemesis system.
