The world is in play

Conventions are like clickers: they sneak up on you. We’ve only just washed our hands of E3 2014 a few months back, but already GamesCom 2014 is lurking – and as usual, Sony is planning to have a pretty big presence at the show. A recent leak revealed that announcements may include Journey, The Unfinished Swan, and Until Dawn for the PlayStation 4, with the curtain set to be raised during the platform holder’s press conference on 12th August.

And writing on the PlayStation Blog regarding the Japanese giant’s plans, Sony employee Fred Dutton hinted that it’s going to be an exciting show. “We’ll have more info for you a little later this week,” he assured eager fans. “Lots of good stuff planned.” In a second comment, he added that he’s “really looking forward to this year’s show”, and applied a winking face to the end of his message. All aboard the hype train.

As with any big convention, rumours are rife regarding major reveals. There’s speculation that both Media Molecule and Guerrilla Games could unveil their in-production PS4 projects, but we’d settle for a longer look at The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Of course, if the manufacturer wants to roll out RIME as well, we certainly won’t complain. What would you like to see? Plot your perfect presentation in the comments section below.
