After several seriously slow editions of ‘Out This Week’, the PlayStation Nation seems ready to shake away its summer malaise. Indeed, it’s going to be a surprisingly busy August for Sony’s suite of systems, with the platform holder eager to turn up the temperature before we even stumble out of July. The one game that’s certain to be on your radar this time is The Last of Us Remastered, and unsurprisingly that’s our pick of the week – but don’t let the clickers cast a shadow over the other great titles due out over the next seven days.
Pick of the Week: The Last of Us Remastered
What more is there left to say about The Last of Us? We spent two years reporting on the PlayStation 3 game, and now we’ve exhausted another six or so months chatting about its PlayStation 4 re-release, The Last of Us Remastered. For those somehow out of the loop, this is an enhanced edition of the survival horror escapade that landed developer Naughty Dog every award under the sun in 2013 – and now it’s running at 60 frames-per-second in 1080p.
Mere performance improvements aren’t the only highlights in this next-gen remaster, however. The Californian developer has also bundled in all of the original title’s downloadable content, including the Left Behind expansion that we gushed over earlier in the year. There’s also a cast commentary mode starring actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, as well as a photo feature similar to the one in inFAMOUS: Second Son. Sold.

The Last of Us Remastered all the way. Didn't play this yet...so looking forward to do so, finally...and in the better looking version as well!

May come as a shock to people on here but I will be buying TLOU:R. Why? First of all a botched order by Amazon resulted in them giving me a voucher for a free PS4 game, it will be something to actually play on the damn PS4 and thirdly to give the game a second chance. I don't hold much hope for it changing my mind - unless the game play has been altered drastically - but at least the story/atmosphere/etc will be better on a more powerful machine. And I won't have a heavily pregnant woman screaming at clickers down my ear.
