Hello, nightmare fuel

How would you like to be a space marine on Mars fighting demon robots? With the next game in the DOOM franchise, you can live out this pleasant, admirable dream on your PlayStation 4, starting in the near future with a multiplayer beta. That is, only if you purchased a copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order, which came with a code to register for it. This peculiar way of officially announcing the game's existence has had us wondering what it would even look like, and it looks like we won't have to wait much longer.

The teaser is gravely narrated by a woman who vaguely speaks of humanity being on the brink of uncovering a technology that could change everything. However, they "let them in" (presumably demons) instead, which somehow resulted in the horrific union of flesh and metal. During this exposition, you see this in action, as you're treated to a shrouded but sufficiently gory look at what appears to be a demon fused with robotic limbs and weapons. It's a nightmare to behold, but before getting the whole picture, the teaser ends with the ominous DOOM logo, detailing that you'll get a better glimpse of the game at QuakeCon 2014 in July.

To see why the next generation of DOOM will likely scare the pants off of its players, check out the teaser below for yourself. Are you signed up for the DOOM beta? Will you be tuning in to QuakeCon 2014? Be off like Dante to the inferno of the comments section and let us know.
