Military shooters are dime a dozen these days, so it's nice to see a studio take a different approach to the ubiquitous subject matter. It's even more heartening when that title's publisher also happens to be more famously known for its annual franchises. Perhaps most exciting of all, though, is when that game will be made using the UbiArt engine.
We are, of course, talking about Ubisoft's forthcoming Valiant Hearts: The Great War. The gorgeous puzzler tackles World War I head-on, and sees you play as five different characters in a heart wrenching tale of the atrocities and ugliness of war. The studio recently released a new video on the PlayStation Blog that shows off some fresh footage of the game, as well as interviews with its creators.

According to the clip, huge amounts of research were put into the title's narrative, so as to maintain historical accuracy. What's more, the team attempted to put a strong focus on smaller, more personal stories, to try to help ground the experience. As we said in our preview, we're pretty excited for the unique puzzler, and this trailer hasn't diminished that at all.
Will you be picking up Valiant Hearts: The Great War when it arrives in June? What do you make of the ambitious title? Let us know in the comments section below.

This looks amazing. The gameplay hasn't convinced me yet, though.
Reminds me of child of light, theres certainly lots coming this way for PS4, getting spoilt for choice now!
@ErnisDy I predict a late port by three months.
WWI seems to be ignored by video games in general. Glad to hear they're using fact-checkers
The art style is beautiful. Very Belgian/French which clearly the creators are. It would be great to see some game-play and understand how you actually play other than run around an talk to people. Certainly paying attention.
I'm really excited for this one. The UbiArt Framework is a stroke of genius, and this seems like the kind of game that's been absent for too long...
I'll be buying this no question about it. I love a good story.
I'm certainly interested in this game. Today was the perfect choice for Ubisoft to shine the spotlight on "Valiant Hearts" because it was Memorial Day. World War I is truly a Historical conflict that both television/movie media and video games mostly ignore but it's nice to see Ubisoft casting a spotlight on it. I just pray that Ubisoft will release Valiant Hearts on the PS Vita as it would truly shine on the console's excellent OLED screen. I just hope the dog doesn't die because I've been crying after watching the trailer. So touching.
