WWWW Ocelot John Marston

What a nail-biter we had last week. In a heated duel between Yu Narukami and Squall Leonhart, the match was in constant flux as the protagonists wrestled victory from each other time and time again. When the dust finally cleared, it was Persona 4's teenage hero that emerged boasting 51 per cent of the votes – it doesn't get much closer than that. Fortunately, we've got another tantalising match-up for this week's Who Would Win Wednesdays, so as always, take a gander at the low-down on each combatant, and cast your vote for the winner in our poll. Put your guns on!

Ocelot

Ocelot

One of gaming's most eccentric gunslingers, Ocelot has a penchant for the classic-looking revolver. Tangling with Naked Snake as a young man, Solid Snake as an older gentlemen, and Old Snake as the ridiculous split personality that is Liquid Ocelot, this Metal Gear veteran has seen it all. Whatever his age or state of mind, though, the bullet-loving boss likes nothing better than performing tricks with his collection of firearms. Whether he's twirling them and flipping them into the air for minutes at a time, or taking pot shots around corners from impossible angles, it's difficult to think of a PlayStation character that's more in sync with their weapon of choice. He's also a dab hand at speeches, constantly berating the opposition with his often twisted ideology.

John Marston

John Marston

When he's not being smashed off cliffs by wild pigs or mauled by entire armies of cougars, Red Dead Redemption's John Marston is one gunslinger that you won't want to mess with. The no-nonsense cowboy may be stuck in a world that's quickly leaving him behind, but that doesn't stop him from hunting down lowlifes and shooting bears in the head for fun. The marksman's impressive aim makes him a force to be reckoned with, especially when on horseback – but it's when the protagonist enters his dead eye state that his enemies start hitting the floor in droves. Thanks to these incredible reflexes, Marston is able to out-gun just about every outlaw in the state, although we dare say that the wannabe family man's weakness to even the most shallow pool of water could easily be exploited.

Would Ocelot's angled shots catch Marston out, or would gaming's favourite cowboy unload an entire cylinder into the loud-mouthed marksman before he could even have a pop? Vote for your winner in our poll, and tell us how you think the battle would unfold in the comments section below.
