We take back everything that we said about Sony’s shoddy sales, as the platform holder’s January promotion is absolutely packed to the figurative brim with noteworthy offers and discounts. Starting today and set to run throughout January, the discounts span various PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable titles – and there are some real humdingers in here.
We’re not going to reproduce the full list, but you can point your peepers at the PlayStation Blog for the complete rundown of reductions. Highlights that you must take advantage of before 2nd January include the original BioShock for £2.87, WWE 2K14 for £10.99, and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse for £4.99.
You’ll have a little longer to grab God of War: Ascension for £18.59 and Puppeteer for £15.99, as those deals aren’t set to end until 8th January. Even further afield, you’ll be able to snap up Street Fighter X Tekken for £7.99, Resident Evil: Revelations for £11.99, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record for £4.39. Many of these come with an additional 10 per cent saving for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Concluding on 22nd January are offers involving Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Tomb Raider, and Payday 2. EA’s practically giving away Crysis 3 at £5.99, while you’ll be able to snatch Dead Space 3 for £6.59. Elsewhere, the critically maligned Medal of Honor: Warfighter will cost you £5.39, while you’ll be able to grab the original Mass Effect for £3.95.
Elsewhere, the gorgeous Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be available for just £6.59, while the various LEGO games will be selling for little more than pocket change. And those are just the highlights – turn your attention towards the PlayStation Blog for much, much more. Steam-like sales on the PlayStation Store, you say? We think that they’ve arrived.

We need some discounts for older games in the US too, Bioshock and Mirror's Edge are interesting for me.
@ferrers405 Yeah, I think that's the key thing with these digital sales. The games have probably sold out of their Blu-ray run, so there's no real danger in dropping the price seeing as they're just sitting on a server somewhere. It makes sense to sell off BioShock and Mirror's Edge for really cheap - you never know, someone might become a fan of the franchise and end up buying the sequels as a result.
This is a really great sale in my opinion. I can see myself getting quite a few games.
I don't have internet, so I couldn't even take advantage of this deal, but this really rustles my jimmies. Europe always seems to get all the good stuff, while the Americans get any scraps that are left over. Is a little equal treatment too much to ask?
This is really amazing. I use steam love the sales, but get sick of people comparing them. This is an exceptional console sale.
@BornOfEvil Hoi, you lot got the PS4 two weeks before us.
@get2sammyb Touché.
You guys are getting amazing deals. Hopefully we'll get something like this across the pond
Another sale full of stuff I've had, got, or just don't want.
I'll find something one of these days, dammit!
I need atelier meruru, flower, flow, malicious
... Hope they somehow get discount. I can't buy them now at full price, afraid to regret later
A monster sale that's for sure, just picked up a Vita so I think AC3, Wipeout, Jet Set Radio. Most likely need a 32GB card as well as I don't think the 16GB card I've got will last much longer!!
Just got Need for Speed and Liberation for my Vita. About 23 euro both!
Edit: Couldn't resist also got Valhalla Knights 3, Real Boxing and Monkey Ball. Those, in addition to Killzone I got when it was discounted, plus the free games I have content on my Vita that can last till the next Christmas.
(Don't forget, the Vita has no games )
THIS IS INSANE. I can get Spec Ops, Sleeping Dogs, and Ni No Kuni for about £20... holy crap!
Hope US will have something like that in January.
@ShogunRok Dante's Inferno for £3.99, bro. Do it.
Oh my gawd, that sale list is huuuuge!
@get2sammyb I might if PSN would stop being so incredibly slow. I'm guessing it's being hammered right now.
... My Borderlands 2 estimated download time was 24,000+ minutes!
I'll certainly grab Ni No Kuni if these deals come to NZ (where we're double the pound - 5 pounds = $10 NZ)
