Gran Turismo 6

There was plenty of pent-up desire for Gran Turismo 5 when it eventually parked on store shelves all the way back in 2010, so it’s not especially surprising that its successor Gran Turismo 6 has debuted with sales less than its older sibling. However, we weren’t expecting such a sizeable drop. Chart-Track reports that the PlayStation 3 racer debuted with a tally around five times fewer than its oft-delayed forerunner, landing the vehicular excursion in eighth place in this week’s UK sales charts.

As has become a bit of a recurring theme, Call of Duty: Ghosts breached the summit, while FIFA 14 remained consistent – unlike the rest of the Premier League – and dribbled into second. Elsewhere, Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag held onto third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, Killzone: Shadow Fall proved that the next-gen party is not over by sticking around in ninth, while Knack continued to outsell Super Mario 3D World all the way down in 18th.
