Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, the sequel to the scariest game that we’ve ever played, will haunt your PlayStation Portable and Vita from 15th January in North America, publisher XSEED has confirmed. The nightmare simulator will set you back just $19.99, which sounds pretty reasonable to us. A European launch will follow, but the specifics are still being hammered out behind the scenes.
The dark visual novel is set before, during, and after the events of the original game, which “chronicled the struggles of seven high-school classmates who all got trapped in a cursed elementary school that shouldn't even exist”. The title features eight chapters, the last of which can only be unlocked by people who finished the first release or are able to find every wrong ending in Book of Shadows.
Beware: this series is actually pretty scary. In fact, we're still having bad dreams after playing the last game.

Still made for PSP;) Emulate on vita. What a shame..
@Sanquine Yeah, it's a PSP game, but it will work on Vita.
@get2sammyb Still i think this game should be a vita game. I sold my psp and now i want them the developers to use this awesome power which is in the vita. Every game should be like uncharted ( Graphics)
@Sanquine
Firstly, this is a 2011 game that only got localized now.
Secondly, I totally undestand that you want more Triple A VITA games, but to say that every game should look like Uncharted is a somewhat narrow-minded view on what games should be as a whole. Different strokes for different folks, not everyone puts state-of-the-art graphics above all else.
Thirdly, it's a good thing that a game that could easily be overlooked by the Western market gets to be released at all. No matter if it's a PSP game that can be played on both the PSP and the VITA.
Finally, I don't even see the point of arguing that a game like Corpse Party should look different from what it is.
I suppose they could have popped Trophies in and called it a Vita game — but then they would have lost potential PSP customers.
@fchinaski I am certainly no graphic *hore, but i love the polished look and i want to see that developers are searching the borders of what is possible.
And yeah everyone has their preference. I also love other games with less graphical appereance like the binding of isaac.
Honestly i think Sony should stop support for the PSP so that the PS Vita can get the attention. But its kind of hard to do when the PSP is outselling the PS vita in japan.
Do we know the EU release date? I liked the first game...
@belmont No date, but it's coming soon.
i need retail release...
