How low can you go?

The recently leaked PlayStation 3 Super Slim will not be announced at GamesCom, according to a VG247 report. The site claims that a Germany reveal had been planned, but a larger than expected inventory of the existing model has forced the platform holder to reconsider.

However, while an August announcement appears to be off the cards, the site is certain that the system exists. It’s believed that the top-loading refresh will ship in three different flavours, with 16GB, 250GB and 500GB options touted.

The website continues that the 16GB unit will use Flash memory. It’s thought that the entry-level console will be aggressively priced, with an unbelievably attractive £99.99 price-point possible.

The first images of the purported PS3 Super Slim leaked out of a Brazilian website earlier this month.
