Like a boss

Toshihiro Nagoshi’s hard work on the Yakuza franchise has not gone unnoticed: SEGA’s announced this morning that the Yakuza Studio boss has been promoted to the role of Chief Creative Officer at the publisher.

The change comes as part of a wider corporate shuffle at the company, caused by the impending retirement of SEGA Chief Operating Officer Okitane Usei.

Former directors Shigeru Yamashita and Yuki Sugino have also been promoted to senior positions.

We’re thrilled to see Nagoshi’s hard work pay off, but we hope it doesn’t have an impact on any of his games. The Yakuza titles are far and away some of our favourites, and we'd hate to see him step away from the series in order to fulfil his new commitments.
