Unsurprisingly, BioWare's confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will be supported by a DLC plan.

Chatting with Game Informer, Hudson said that the developer is planning "some multiplayer" DLC, but is also intending to extend the game's single player campaign with additional content. The reason? "Because it did really good in Mass Effect 2." Sounds fine with us.

Naturally, Hudson didn't delve into specifics regarding the DLC itself, but he did hint that we can expect the single player content to function similarly to in Mass Effect 2.

“The adventure-type DLC will happen in the time frame of Mass Effect 3, within your Mass Effect 3 storyline. It’s similar to how with Mass Effect 2, if you had a saved game from anywhere inside the game, you could go on to the DLC. We have a pretty neat concept for how it’s going to work," he explained.

Mass Effect 3's due out in March on PlayStation 3.
