What's taken so long?

Given the price of electricity at the moment, it would probably be cheaper for us to just re-purchase an updated version of the game.

But up until this morning, a re-packaged version of Gran Turismo 5 didn't exist. Thankfully Sony Computer Entertainment Japan's rectified that problem. It's announced that an updated Spec II version of its driving simulator is set to launch on February 2nd in Japan, featuring all of the recent patches and updates in addition to a download code for the game's debut DLC pack.

The re-released racer will run you ¥4,980 (approximately $64). Hopefully it makes its way overseas next year too.
