Some minor details about The Last Of Us' development have emerged online.

The first of which is that Enslaved lead designer Mark Davies is working on the project.

"Okay, so I never worked on Uncharted 3 - I was really doing this," the newly employed Naughty Dog game designer proudly revealed on Twitter, linking to The Last Of Us' debut trailer. "Finally I can stop lying!"

Davies' involvement has caused some unwarranted vitriol from some dark corners of the Internet — apparently Enslaved was a bad game? — but we're more than happy with the signing. We always felt like Enslaved wanted to be Uncharted in the first place, and can only assume that Davies' design philosophy will fit in well at Naughty Dog.

Despite the game's announcement coming as a massive shock, Naughty Dog's actually been working on The Last Of Us for a while. Creative director Neil Druckmann (who was a key figure in the development of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves) revealed that he has been working on The Last Of Us for two years now. How this never leaked, we'll never know.

While lead female character Ellie looks a lot like Hollywood actress Ellen Page, Druckmann has revealed that Ashley Johnson (of Growing Pains fame) is playing the character. Troy Baker (whose credits include Final Fantasy XIII, Batman: Arkham City and BioShock Infinite) is playing the rough and ready survivor, Joel.

Bruce Straley — who was also involved with Uncharted 2 — is the game's director.

A page on Sony's official website notes an 18 age certificate, and no "network play". Isolated, single-player horror game confirmed? Yes please.

A secret press event for The Last Of Us is being held in North America tomorrow. Hopefully we'll get some more details out of it, but Naughty Dog has warned that we might not see anymore of the game for a while.
