Shock-Horror: NetherRealm's Working On Mortal Kombat DLC While The Game Get Printed.

Cue so-called "fans" moaning about charging for "content that should be on the disc." Hint: the game's done. Finished. Finito. It's going through certification and being pressed as we speak. I.e. there's a lot of NetherRealm employees sitting around doing nothing. Obviously the studio could cut down on size and fire the additional staff now the game's finished. Alternatively, the studio's decided to keep its team together and put designers, programmers and artists on DLC characters. There's nothing wrong with that. Please, feel free not to whine in the comments.

So the news. Yes. NetherRealms' Hans Lo recently confirmed to CVG that new kombatants are currently in development. Kenshi will join the roster, as will "Scarlet", a fleshed-out character based on a glitch that turned Jade, Kitana and Mileena blood-red in the original Mortal Kombat arcade cabinet. Awesome.

"People always thought it was a hidden unlockable character and it wasn't, it was purely a programming glitch," Lo said, adding, "She's no longer a glitch - she's an actual character, and she'll be coming pretty soon post-launch."

So awesome. Mortal Kombat's due out next month. You should probably buy a copy on account of it looking absolutely amazing.
