Resistance 3's Set To Get A Second Trailer At Next Week's VGA Awards Show.

The first game was incredible, and for all its faults, the second game was pretty good too. Unfortunately for Resistance 2 it had to follow-up the original, and instead of building on the atmosphere and tone that made the first game so successful, it went in a different, less unique direction. The original Resistance had more ties to survival horror than anything else, while the sequel was a fairly straight-laced military game. Everything we've seen and heard about Resistance 3 suggests the franchise is returning to its horror roots, which is exactly what we want from the game.

So we're really excited to see the game's latest trailer, which has been confirmed for Spike TV's VGA awards show next week. Insomniac's community manager, James Stevenson, has promised the trailer will consist of "a mix of live-action continuing the live-action Cologne trailer, as well as gameplay". We're just really curious to see the game's visual style. Every screenshot we've seen has a kind of bloom filter to it, and we're aching to see if that effect carries across to the actual gameplay.

Resistance 3's sounding extremely special. We're hyped for the part of the trailer.
