Sports Champions made it to number 2 in the UK charts in its first weekend of sale, a surprising but pleasing achievement for Sony's top Move title. Now the perennial slew of high-profile releases has begun in earnest, with last week seeing F1 2010, Dead Rising 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock all released across multiple formats, with Sports Champions managing to stick it out in the top 5.
What's perhaps most impressive is that the game's sales dipped just 12 percent week-on-week: titles usually fall off a significant amount more, as proven by Halo: Reach's 80% decrease in sales. Start the Party! climbed five places to 24, outsold by Ubisoft's Racket Sports which jumped a whopping ten places up to 22.
A dip of 12% for Sports Champions, plus the increase in sales of Start the Party! and Racket Sports means there's likely to have been a similar number of Move adopters in both weeks, something that should please Sony UK MD Ray Maguire.

Good job Champions!
Weeeeeeee are the champions my friends!
@y2josh There's a game where an announcer says that and I can't for the life of me remember what it is. This is going to torment me all day now!
Edit: Oh it's okay, it's from Virtua Fighter. Got it.
Not surprising considering that I didn't hear about any awesome launch titles over their.
Never played any Virtua Fighter. Thats pretty cool though, James Glad it's not gonna torment you haha
I dunno... Saying Sports Champions sold really well is like saying Wii Sports sold really well. Were they really buying the game, or is the game just getting a boost because it's bundled with hardware?
but only a demo is included with the starter pack, not the actual game
@mjc0961 These are UK charts, where the game is only available separately. We got a demo disc in our Starter Packs
I'm surprised it did this well.
