It seems the teams behind the development of Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption have asked for a little more time to perfect their games - something Take Two shareholders were advised would have an impact on their earnings for the rest of the financial year:

"[The delay is] to allow additional development time for the titles and to maximize their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance."

The delay will likely hold the games back until early 2010, but they could make the important holiday '09 period by a whisker.
