Can you romance anyone in Horizon Forbidden West? Does Horizon Forbidden West let you romance other characters? A lot of modern RPGs feature romance options that allow your character to become intimately involved with certain companions. As part of our Horizon Forbidden West guide, we're going to let you know whether the game has this feature. There may be spoilers ahead!

Horizon Forbidden West: Can You Romance Anyone?

While Aloy encounters dozens of characters throughout Horizon Forbidden West, there are unfortunately no romance options in the game. There is no way to build affinity with any characters and become romantically involved with them, and there are no love scenes at all.

From a story perspective, it's easy to understand why this perhaps isn't a focus for Aloy, as she has an incredible amount of pressure on her to fulfil her mission. She doesn't have time to slow down and relax — there's only the entire world to save!

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores: Can You Romance Anyone?

In Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, the expansion DLC for the game, one plot point revolves around the relationship Aloy forms with an ally named Seyka. After spending the entire main game concentrating on her mission, Burning Shores sees Aloy finally lower her guard, and develop warm feelings towards this new character. At the very end of the expansion's story, you are given the option to romance Seyka. Here are your choices.

At the end of Burning Shores, you are given a few choices in how to respond to Seyka's expression of love. She asks Aloy if she feels the same way. You can choose one of the following options in response:

Yes, I do

Choosing this option will see Aloy admit her romantic feelings towards Seyka, and the pair share a kiss. Aloy will then explain she has a long road ahead of her, and Seyka agrees, admitting she has her own responsibilities to take care of, but says it's "enough to know how you feel". Aloy leaves, promising to never forget her.

I'm not ready for this

If you select this option, Aloy will tell Seyka that she's simply not ready for a romantic relationship. Having only known rejection from her time as an outcast and constant fighting as she strives to save the planet, Aloy explains she's only just learning how to truly understand and speak to people. With that in mind, she says she's not ready to take the next step.

This is too much for me

If you choose this option, Aloy will explain that all she's known for the last two years is fighting, and that she can't cope with anything else right now — especially with what's to come in the next game. With so much weight on her shoulders, Aloy admits that she couldn't get romantically involved at this point.
